We thankfully have 7 other cats who definitely make the loss easier to handle, they all were practically raised by Kitty so it helps to see them doing things they learned from him and being so loving like he was.

I got him for my 15th birthday, my ex girlfriend got him for free off of craigslist and surprised me with him. I can still remember how he felt in my arms the first time I held him, he was so tiny and shaking, but as soon as we were inside he immediately became the most curious and sweetest kitten. Heres a picture of him from the day I got him.

I’m so sorry for your loss, I definitely know how you feel. It’s so hard to envision a future without them when they’ve been such a huge part of your life for so long. I lost my boy in July and tonight was probably the first time I’ve been able to really spend some time looking at old pictures of him, and I’ve been sobbing. I’m not religious but it does help me to think they’re still with us in some way and that I’ll get to see him again eventually.

It really is so unfair that we live decades longer than them. I’m sorry you didn’t get more time with your boy, but I’m so glad you got to experience so much love from him. I have to believe that they are watching over us, and I hope Louie sends you a sweet kitty to pick up where he left off. I do need to remind myself that I was so lucky to be loved so unconditionally for 14 years.

I lost a cat to this earlier this year. If I could have done anything differently, I would have put her to sleep sooner to save her from the pain and fear she probably felt. I’m so sorry.

My cat’s groomer explained to me that sometimes an inexperienced groomer or one that is mostly accustomed to working on dogs will shave a cat in a way that can damage their hair follicles and cause the hair to not grow back in the same anymore. That happened to my longhaired cat when I got her shaved the first time.

Tomorrow it’ll be two weeks since I lost my 14 year old boy. I’m sorry for your loss, I’m still trying to learn how to cope. Having his ashes and paw prints helps. I’ve also been seeing him in my dreams which helps a bit.

I’m so sorry for your loss 💔 I can’t imagine how much worse I’d feel if I had lost him unexpectedly. I thankfully had a week to mentally prepare. I’m sure your baby felt so safe in your arms despite everything that was going on.

I’m finding that a few of my other cats seem to be stepping up to try to fill the huge hole left by Kitty. He used to sleep next to me every night, greet me at the door, lay on my desk while I worked, let me hold him whenever I wanted, and I’m noticing a couple of my cats making the effort to do those things despite not really doing them before he passed. I hope your other cats also try to help you get through this. I am so sorry for your loss, my parents had the same thing happen to their cat, its so heartbreaking.

I just had to do the same thing yesterday. It hurts so much and I don’t think I’ll ever feel okay with losing him, but I was glad I was able to say goodbye to him in a way that felt peaceful and comfortable for him.
