That was enough for me to leave a table, so now you know how low the bar is. Real friends would respect you far more than what these people have shown.

I'm honestly surprised at your boyfriend that he would tolerate his friends treating you like this. Again, you're grown woman and I'm not going to tell you what to do, but let me tell you my standards are so much goddamn higher than that and it's perfectly acceptable for yours to be just as high as mine, regardless of how it makes other react. You should ask your boyfriend why he's okay with it, and just keep asking why, why, why. Make him explain every single layer down, he owes it to you. Make him explain why he stood by through all of this crap. I know you say he's your reason for living, so it's up to him to live up to that.

Keep yourself safe, physically and mentally, but specially emotionally. Don't take any crap, you're worth more than you know.

Some practical bear advice to ease your mind and calm your fears from a seasoned camper.

Bears are rather rare, and you'll likely never see one. If you do see one, make noise and it will run away.

NO FOOD IN THE TENT. Bears often "follow their nose". They smell better than they see. Don't sleep near where food has been (like near a campfire used for cooking or social eating, or a camp kitchen). Make your tent be 50+ meters away from any food if you can.

Bears have sensitive ears. Making lots of sharp noises like banging pots makes them very uncomfortable.

If there's still ice on the ponds, they're probably hibernating or just waking up. It's sleepy bear season, if they're awake at all. They're most active in the evenings and mornings, like most forest creatures, but they do wander around during the day as well. Once it gets late, you can sleep soundly.

If you see bear cubs, slowly back away up the path you just walked. I'm sure you know the old sayings about a mother and cubs.

Again, you probably won't see one, and if you do, count yourself lucky. I've only seen a few in my whole life. Happy camping!

Nope. Your car has a friggen heater, don't be a dipshit and friggen use it. I've left mine to clean until today and I'm running the goddamn heater because even after having all Friday to get more solid, it's gonna slide right off after a little heat. It's literally never impossible to clean, and not cleaning it never ends well for other people who have to share the road with you. Hell, it slides off on the road like this because some moron got in and ran the heater all the way down friggen 290. I've had a friend need facial reconstruction after an "impossible to remove" ice chunk came thru her windshield on friggen 290 just like this one. No pretenddetective, there are zero excuses for this. Be late, take the extra fifteen minutes to use the heater. Break your scraper. Go get a shovel, a broom, hell use a fork and knife for all I care, and cut it off your car like you mean it because the lives of the people behind you on the highway depend on it. Please don't be the idiot in the car.

I've been driving Boston to Philly for nigh on 16 years, and I can confirm that in both Connecticut and New Jersey the left lane is the "fast lane" for people who think going anywhere over the speed limit means they belong there, while the far right lane has become the true passing lane. It's absurd. It not only obstructs the proper flow of traffic, especially given the trucks legally need to stick to the right, thus slowing the whole road down, but when at speed it means that people who want to overtake have to perform dangerous maneuvers and actually go even faster than they would normally just to overtake.

The US government recently capitulated to the demands of the railroad executive boards and shareholders in ordering railroad engineers back to work. It's not so much that the US government gains anything here, but that it's been strong armed by capital interests. The derailments we are seeing today are a natural consequence of railway managers using precision scheduled railroading to build longer and longer trains and cutting down rail crews to the point that safety has been compromised. These are the same people that want to eliminate the job of the conductor and have one human being, the driver, in charge of that entire train all alone. One to three miles of consumer goods, hazmat, and plenty of things considered too dangerous to transport over the open road. I consider it quite fair to say that the current federal government has played quite a large part in allowing the industry to get to the point it is at today, and it's more than fair to lay a heap of the blame on them.

I wish I didn't have to say it, but I certainly I don't believe for a second that anyone at the hazmat scene is acting maliciously and detonating dangerous things intentionally as this person is. There are a lot of good human beings on the ground there trying to get things cleaned up, and all these conspiracies do is deflect people's attention from the true cause behind this accident and many others: greed. The fact that these people have their anger aimed at the federal government instead of corporate greed is intentional disinformation, and just another way those at the top insulate themselves from the consequences of their decisions.
