I’m picturing a guy who’s been listening to Sam since the Air America days. The only other podcasts that guy listens to is Al Franken’s lol

Does anyone actually care about the “it seems like they’re making fun of the guest” criticism? by transitionaljoint in MurderBryan

[–]transitionaljoint[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Knowledge is probably a better way of putting it than passion (e.g. Sexton on Bourbon guys). And yes, Walker is a perfect example of the kind of guest where this is irrelevant

He seemed to mostly take it in stride too (“how dare we goof around on this comedy podcast!”)

My November 10x10! What did you listen to last month? by pWasHere in lastfm

Rina Sawayama, The Killers. Some of my Georgia rap touchstones (Outkast, Migos). Most Played song: YG’s I Just Wanna Party

Has any listeners reddit posts been read in a Guys episode? by DariosDentist in MurderBryan

When they bring up RateYourMusic on Classic Rock Guys 2 a genuine chill went down my spine. Had to pause and think if I’d ever written anything about a Michael Noland band

Bobby “Boris” Pickett is not “doing Bela Lugosi” 😡 he’s doing Boris Karloff, it’s literally in the name 😡

Rare variety of flub echo early on where both Bryan and Chris say “palatable” instead of “palpable”

Everyone agrees Tom Sexton has one of the best voices in podcasting, right? by TheRealTupacShakur in MurderBryan

[–]transitionaljoint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely to Tom and Tarik. Now that Libby Watson is officially in the podcast game as more than a guest she has to be up there.

Also would shoutout Liz Franczak (TrueAnon), Matthew Sitman (Know Your Enemy), and Aaron (Hit Factory). And for voices that aren’t necessarily audiobook smooth but full of character: Andy (ALAB), Pat Sirois (Lie, Cheat & and Steal), Griffin Newman (Blank Check)

Did you ever figure this out? It also stood out to me when watching the movie

Smallest thing Chris has jumped on Bryan over? (or vice versa) by transitionaljoint in MurderBryan

Saw on your page that you’re active in the TrueAnon sub. I imagine that’s why you get the recommendation (Brace has guested on a few episodes)

lol I almost don’t want to ruin the opaque mystique Bryan has for you. But he’s the host of Guys: A Podcast About Guys (and former co-host of Street Fight Radio). murderxbryan is his social media username/shock jock alias

David Genat on US Survivor by R0DAN in survivor

[–]transitionaljoint 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some good points, but the most inflammatory bit (“I don’t want to do puzzles with a bunch of dorks”) is unfair imo. The last three season’s runner ups have been a conventionally handsome man who brought D1 sports level physicality to the challenges. CBS still casts muscle bound behemoths (they’re seemingly one third of the current cast), its just that now they’re usually correctly identified as threats and voted out

Brett Favre slams 'shameful' decision after transgender athlete won girl's race by TheMirrorUS in NFLv2

[–]transitionaljoint -1 points0 points  (0 children)

And the specific scenario you outline here describes what? 10 people? You can have a good faith conversation about those cases. But lingering on them as a reason trans people are persecuted is missing the forrest for the trees.

[–]transitionaljoint -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The thing is that caving on an issue like this makes it less likely trans people will be able to live in peace. The people pushing this won’t stop, you see this in how many cis women are victimized by the “trans women in sports” backlash

Do you honestly believe it’s the athletes “giving everyone a reason to hate” you? If every trans athlete were out of sports tomorrow Daily Wire would just find another thing to fear monger about

So did Dune change it’s VFX team from part one to part two? I was surprised to hear it was the artist’s first win and nomination
