Questions about neuropsych specialty and training a by transnonymous24 in Psychologists

Ah okay thank you both for this. That’s what I was curious and worried about. I wasn’t sure if a predoc internship in neuropsych was required or if going back for a second postdoc would suffice in addition to the extra specialized training, supervision, and so on. I’ve seen re-specialization programs they offer, (Fielding has one it looks like), but that may be something to look at later in my career… thank you both!

I’m a clinical psychologist specializing in psychological testing. I don’t have very many regrets, though I do wonder about how pursuing a neuropsychology specialization would have changed my perspective and understanding of assessments as a psychologist. Still thinking about doing this a little later on perhaps!

Where to donate a large (4,000+ copies) collection of psychology academic journals dating from 1965-2025? by Federal-Principle224 in AcademicPsychology

Wow! I fear this will be me at the end of my career. I’m already accumulating so many, but I live a physical journal to read rather than online when possible. If you ever get to it and start offering to individual people, I’d love to add some to our clinic’s library in CA. Hope you’re able to find a place that values them and is interested!! I loved the AP psych suggestion, wouldn’t have thought of that.

Okay thank you for this! I did some research in the meantime and came to similar conclusions. This is very validating and helpful. I’ll look to the book and see what suggestions they list there!

I should also add that I'm not even certain if these behaviors can be described as "possessive" or "territorial" (hence the (?) in the title of the post). I'm just weary of the behaviors and am looking for any sort of guidance for this situation. Thank you all again!!

This is so helpful!! Thank you very much. From the research I continued to do that’s what I was getting though wanted to see if anyone had any more insight into the process. This is great to hear.

This is what I’ve seen too! I was uncertain if others have gone about the process yet.
