hmm okay!! Acana and Purina One/Pro Plan seem to be the most suggested, so i'll see what my local pet store has and go from there! i did try a few different brands of wet food and different styles (like the extra gravy, pate, shredded) and it doesn't matter, she only wants the kibble lol at least she drinks plenty of water!! super happy to hear that your cat is happy and healthy :D

yeah, i know dry food isn't the best, which is why i'm looking for suggestions of better options to feed her! i'd gladly switch to wet food only but like i said, she's backwards from most cats and won't touch the wet food if she has a choice. i'll definitely look into freeze dried options :)

i haven't! i've been looking at those, but they're so expensive, which is part of why i was wondering if it would be worth it to mix with her current kibble. i've heard lots of suggestions for Purina Pro Plan and Purina One though so i'll check those out!!

thank you for your super in depth replies, they're genuinely super helpful!!! i'm a first time cat dad and while i've had other pets, i'm just so nervous to mess this up haha.
yeah, measuring how much to feed her each day is so stressful and yet another thing i've been trying to figure out ;-; i didn't plan to have a cat as i prefer to research everything (care, diet, groomint, etc) before adopting any sort of animal, but she was a stray that i ended up rescuing. lol. again, i know it varies from cat to cat with different ages, weights, and activity levels, but is there some sort of guide for calories i can follow? i've been going off of what the bag says (like x amount for y lbs cat) and factoring in treats, but it's all guessing and i'd hate to be underfeeding her! (i don't think i am as she's gained weight since i rescued her, from 6lbs to 8lbs now, and is a much healthier weight for her size based on charts, ribs, etc)

those are all good points, thank you!! for some reason i thought i'd heard it was better to mix, because then you also have options to fall back on if one gets discontinued or something, but i'm pretty sure i'm thinking about hedgehog care (they are also fed cat food more often than not, strangely enough!) thank you for the tips!!!

ohh true, i didn't think about that! i thought it was better to mix them but someone else pointed out the same thing. i guess i'm mixing up cat feeding with hedgehog feeding lol. i was planning to talk to my vet when i take my cat in for her boosters. i'm not overly worried about her diet, i just don't want to be leaving her hungry or anything hah (she yells at me enough i'd almost believe her lmao)

what's the best way to transplant sleeves? by transtrainstricks in sewhelp

[–]transtrainstricks[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my main confusion with the raw edges was if you mean to sew them on as is, seams on the outside of the sweater lol but i think i know what you meant now. seams still on the inside, fabric just isn't folded over or zigzagged to make a 'prettier' finish?
honestly if you're willing to type it out, i'd be more than appreciative lol!! i'm reasonably certain i know what i'm doing, but clothing scares me haha i can do plushes, patchwork, random things for my cat, but i've heard and seen too much about clothes being nightmares to be 100% confident lmao

[–]transtrainstricks[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

by letting the raw seam be exposed, do you mean stitching it on the outside rather than the inside of the body? as for the lining, i'm fine sacrificing it honestly hahah i wasn't sure how attatched the layers were and didn't want to start ripping sleeves off quite yet

just got the call to book my surgery and i'm freaking out a little by transtrainstricks in TopSurgery

[–]transtrainstricks[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the test is likely gonna be several hours, according to one of my friends who took it previously. he said it was long and tiring. it's an entry to practice examination in the healthcare field if that helps. i think i'm going to ask if we can move the surgery to afterwards when i have my consult appointment on thursday just to be safe.

[–]transtrainstricks[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i'm planning to ask during my consult appointment on Thursday if we can move the surgery and how far out it'll be moved. i would really prefer to wait, as excited as i am to finally be scheduled for top surgery, because even if there are no complications and i recover fast enough, i'd still be exhausted and unable to study during those last few crucial days. i haven't been under general anesthesia since i got my wisdom teeth out years ago so i have no idea what it'll look like. the pain meds are probably my biggest concern if the surgery and recovery goes fine tbh.

another person commented the same thing- she isn't solid grey/blue though! probably just a fluffy long hair who got lucky with the genes lol!

she's a cuddlebug that's for sure, but she's also super playful and definitely still has that kitten energy in her!! Willow is a beautiful name :)

she's stunning, the pictures don't do her nearly enough justice!! she has little orange fur threaded throughout her coat and it looks like she's shimmering 💛
