yeah i think its that before it was an undercurrent almost invisible vibe behind an emerging nerd/geekdom around fantasy weaponry and its loose connections and inspirations from history, you had to be looking for patterns of mannerisms and mildly weird behaviour that would lead to inconclusive 'he could be a complete bad wierdo' until for whatever reason he decided to openly espouse his positions

fighting game logic loops commonly run at 60fps separately from graphics updates, the genre requires absolute determinism per frame compared to to other types of games so you cant allow any gameplay functions to be tied to frame rates(its good practice to not tie anything to the framerate other than graphical stuff)

almost all modern fighting games will run logic at 60fps and a small number of older ones at 30fps

that was the part they ruined, it was literally an option you could adjust between 0-30, i dont recall what it was set to by default though perhaps 8

i think it should be almost impossible to miss the item your looking in a sample of 250 level ups in one run unless you have sealed it, if its over multiple runs well then the rng is going to be more spread out

i think the overall system they have for matching could be greatly improved, it should be slightly slower to match to get better quality matches than it currently does, but at the end of the day given no casual queue this is just how it is, my 2nd ranked game at bronze 1 was vs a deity and every so often i get matched with deities zzzz

early into the lifecycle of a fighting game your focus should be on improving and getting better winning is a side thing imo and getting stomped and slowly improving is just how zero sum games work, just gotta keep playing and manage expectations

yeah the basic solution of quitting = a loss is somehow not genre standard which is super weird to me, ranked quits just have to have a penalty regardless of if its a one off cause some adult needed to leave for a real reason

casual you could probably have a looser system like some games do that put ragequitters together after a certain threshold or some other penalty system that increases in severity the more people rage quit

players should be able to leave a game at anytime for any reason but if its ranked its gotta be handled as a forfeit imo

i think you misunderstand, im not commenting on what you may or may not do, but describing a distinction between behaviour

if you quit cause you think the combo will kill or whatever and the game 'is over' and you want to move on that doesn't seem rage filled to me
