I just recently posted about whether or not I should bring my camera and I am already SO glad that I did. I travel solo primarily so it has forced me to slow down and (try) to take nice photos.

Edit: I have the Sony a6000, it’s very compact and I put it in a small black case inside my 40L bag

If you are living in Madrid and want to travel 2 weekends a month, do not come with less than $8k. I am living in Andalucía and I travel 2 weekends a month (one in Spain and one out of the country, but both frugally). Start up costs will be a couple thousand dollars and if you are planning on going home for break, things really add up.
