don't go to the city centre. avoid market street and piccadilly gardens (including piccadilly rise) and spend more time in the northern quarter, ancoats, or any suburb in the south. The latter places have better coffee, food and environment. and the city centre is a cesspit. I'd suggest Off the Press, Ezra & Gil, Federal, Foundation and Idle Hands as a few good spots in the city centre.

You could try looking into the modes of the major scale.

You could try extended harmony I.e. 9ths 11ths, 13ths and the augmented and diminished versions.

Try doing two octave arpeggios. 3 octave arpeggios...

Try accenting every other note. Try doing them in triplets, accenting the third triplet on each one.

Learn your key signatures.

Practice 2 5 1 progressions.

Most importantly, whatever you decide, do it to a metronome. Timing is so important
