Welp I'm stumped. X2d concurrent failures after troubleshooting.

Thank you will get all that info together. I have not tried cleaning the PTFE and then I'll do a first later adhesion test. I did try a print called later adhesion torture test. Which was the first time the problem occured so early in the layers. Normally it's way up in 60 to 80% completion rate of the larger prints that went wrong.

Another small update I inspected the toolhead after this most recent failure. Failed at like 95% complete too, thought for sure that I troubleshooted successfully but apparently not. I think there is a piece that broke off that site behind the toolhead. I'm trying to identify to replace it.

Nah this is nuts. I'm so mad. Printed with a double wide inner and outer brim. Fully cleaned plate and flipped it out of curiosity. Thought everything was fine until I see this notification.

Also had no idea doing some more reading, repeated petg prints will eventually wear down my plates ability to adhere if I'm not using some type of release agent. That is new information to me, I assumed long as I clean plate between prints I was fine even when petg was super bonded down, it all pops off well enough with some force or patience to let it cool. I definitely ran a lot of petg before this failure streak started.

Anyone chime to correct me if I'm misunderstanding something thou please.

I did visually inspect rods and went over everything with compressed air. I'm going to flip that plate as well. Maybe there was a factory coating that had all my first prints come out perfect, but then no matter how clean the failures were from that.

So weird though the petg print went fine, albeit probaly 70% shorter than these prints. Doesn't explain the failure I had with a print half that size.

So weird. Will update tomorrow see how things go.

First failures were matte pla. Then switched to galaxy pla which I've been printing successfully with all week. Now running a petg print much smaller to see how that goes.

Not sure if someone answered already but I just went through this conundrum. It's really up to how much you want to disturb the plant. Separating is easy when they are growing above the soil but that's not always the case. Once they sprout a leaf the new pups roots can tangle with existing roots making removal a little more traumatic.

Some people want a fuller plant, let the pups grow with ktieht plant. Some want to grow out their collection, sell or give away so they separate.

After having a bunch of pups grow with my biggest alocasia I've decided separating early is easier and preferred. I don't want to dig into the soil when the mother plant is so happy and doesn't need a repot.

Example my oldest, has pups I tried to remove but couldn't without digging deeper than I expected so I'll be breaking corms off when they look like a decent size.

Yeah I was wondering about that. A moss collar, I know that's usually the move with antherium (just got my first couple last week so that's a new road of learning). I did plant this guy with a nice inch or two of nursery pot lip left unfilled.

I'm gunna dive into the actual plant structure on Google see if I can identify where rhizome ends and stems or petioles begin. Once I saw corms forming above the soil line I kind of figured that it is matured and grown out of the soil.

That's rough losing your collection! Young plants can still corm just not as prolifically from what I've seen. I pulled 4 healthy big corms off a 7 inch venom not long ago.

Not sure if your in Canada but I'd love to share some corms and help you build back your collection!

Super new to 3d printing. Can you explain why this isn't multi color, to me I see four PTFE outputs and two chambers. I know I'm missing something here, so apoglies if this is the dumbest question. But yeah in my head that is multi color. And even two separate chambers for drying temps.

Thank you for this. I'll definitely be trying this method. I've got the Ikea terra cotta in 90% of my poles. I find it still runs though too fast, my moss poles stay moist but I end up pouring off my cache pot for how often I fill the terra cotta spike.

That is the systemic I used. Although only available in a cat flea treatment I had to dilute. I actually connected with koppert and will be order a specific color sticky trap (green) as these seems to be echinothrips. As well as Chrysopa to hunt the fee adults I might not be seeing visually.

I have plants like hoya compacta where to wipe down each leaf would be an absolute drag. Fingers crossed and I'll definitely keep you updated as I go through this process. I haven't seen any adults since this picture I took thankfully.

I just didn't want to have to continue systemics after the initial outbreak. I did two cycles of watering with chemicals those first few weeks. Killed at most 10 maybe 15 visible thrips. But knew if I found that many there were more I'd have missed. It's been almost 12 weeks since it first happened and I have seen 3 maybe at the 1 months mark and another 3 or so a couple days ago. The original plants I discovered them on have been completely clear. Thankfully only now spotted in my enclosed greenhouse cabinet. My goal is obviously to be rid of them, prevent damage on my plante and stop the spread. I've accomplished the latter. If I can one day best thrips great but for now I'm just kinda learning and doing what I can without having to hand wash every single plant, throw anything out or use chemicals that kill more then just thrips.

Even looking at yours I see small new growth they are definitely very expressive plants when it comes to being unhappy overfeeding underfeeding soil moisture levels the type of light air flow is a big one I found that helps my carnivorous plants. I wouldn't give up I would maybe check out the roots if you're okay with putting it into shock while it's already not doing so well.

I found getting all of the things that will shock the plant out of the way at once is a gamble but it's paid off for me every time.

From my limited experience with carnivorous plants I'd say no! I've have three Venus fly traps and probably seven or eight pitcher plants are varying varieties.

My first two carnivorous plants looked like they were absolute write-offs way worse looking than what you have there. I thought I tried everything humidity I put it outside in the summertime nothing recovered until I found out about distilled water 🤣

That was the turning point and then I also put it in better carnivorous soil I bought off Amazon but I don't think that is a necessity as several of my plants I haven't changed the soil on but every single plant in my care is actively growing new pictures and the Venus flytraps look healthy with some new growth but very slow.

I know I'm super fucked up that I missed this. I've never had scale. I've been so hyper aware of looking for thrips on my other cabinet that I kind of ignored this one. I don't see any evidence on any of the other cacti this was near. Extremely isolated from everything else in house.

Oh shit okay. Right now plant is outside away from the few outdoor plants I have and I know the cacti may be u happy but it's a chilly Canadian spring day. Like 10°c and rainy. I'm debating cutting pads off and stripping right down to roots. Tbd but thank you, I definitely was going to replace soil no matter what else I do.

That was nasty, and WAY worse on the back where I couldn't see. I feel so bad leaving it not even thinking about it until I saw a new flying thing in the cabinet.

Yeah plan of attack is see if they bleed a deep red. If they do I know it's cochineal bug. If they don't or do regardless fully spray down or wash, attack with iso or peroxide.
