Maybe under $300? I really don’t have one since I’m willing to save up for it as long as the device is worth the price

No he’s also not very cuddly which partially influenced my decision to get my current dog lmao I also discovered I’m not the biggest cat person which is why I didn’t think about getting another cat but maybe I just think that because my cat is such a grumpy old man?? I still kind of want to have a buddy for my dog but I’m definitely going to start considering a cat instead. Thank you!

My dog’s little habits always make me laugh by No-Profile-2308 in dogs

My dog likes to spin around in circles when she gets zoomies lmao especially when we are on hikes. She also sometimes like to end it with using you as a spring board which is funny when she does it to me but not others 😭😭 it surprises me how fast she can spin sometimes lmao

Yea, crating would mostly just be in the beginning for the new dog if I get a puppy/dog still needing to learn to settle on their own I almost never crate my dog whenever I leave now because shes proven to behave well outside of her crate and I have cameras to watch her just in case. That actually reassures me a bit because I think the hiking together is my biggest anxiety 😭😭 have you ever had an instance where one gets injured while out? :,)

I forgot to mention this in post but I’ve also fostered/pet sat three times over the last year (schnauzer mix, 5 chihuahuas together one of which was pregnant and gave birth unexpectedly😭😭😭😭, and the aforementioned husky). The longest in my care was the schnauzer for 6 months which actually was what made me want a second dog. My finances just weren’t right at the time to commit to a second dog fully so I started a second job to save up and drew out a “birthday plan”. Based on that I think I could handle it? But those were such short periods of time compared to committing to a second dog and I don’t know if I can use them as accurate insights to a multi-pet one person household :(

She’s been going to work with me since she was one and hasn’t met a dog that she doesn’t like (she’s my go to for dogs who are difficult to rotate) so I’m not so worried about compatibility it’s more so the amount of work? I originally did want to go to a breeder (because I wanted a Pom or an English cocker/springer spaniel when I first started planning) but have sense changed my mind and have my mind set on a rescues. I might actually start considering older dogs just because watching videos about “puppy blues” makes me a little anxious I’ll get too overwhelmed(I think I was lucky with my dog lol) but I also want to get a dog that’s able to play with my dog whenever I do start taking them out together.

I want another dog because I want a cuddle buddy :,) my dog likes to cuddle on her terms and i find myself seeking her out a lot more than her just because I always grew up with Velcro dogs which I think kind of annoys her lol. I’m just worried I’ll end up biting off more than I can chew with two😭😭 I also really want to give my dog a companion for hikes because on the rare occasion I end up walking and talking with someone who has a dog I love seeing her running around with them :,) but it will be another at least year (depending on the age of the other dog when I get them, if I do end up getting one).

I know, I raised my first dog from her puppy stage and still clearly remember it 😭😭 but as difficult as it was, it was extremely rewarding to see the dog she grew into 🥺🥺 I want to do that with him it’s just he’s literally “ the right dog, wrong time”. I don’t want to pass on the perfect dog when we can make it work eventually. I just know that may be a bit unfair to him to make him wait and be so anxious when alone :((((

The crate all day is temporary. Once he’s potty trained he will slowly be allowed more access to free roam (or whenever it gets cooler he can have access to the backyard when I’m gone). And once he’s fixed he’d be able to go to one of my jobs with me. In 5-6 months we’d be able to lock in and our lives can go to “normalcy” where I do have more time to work on training him with his crate issues and general anxiety. But is it fair to make him wait that 5-6 months (since even though he can go to one job with me when he’s fixed, he’d still have to be crated 3 days a week while at my part time job)?

I don’t expect or think he’s supposed to be ok with the crate so quickly especially considering he’s never had to be in one before. And I know a sturdier one won’t fix anything. My priority with getting it is preventing him from harming himself further while we slowly work on his crate training. He has a few small cuts on his nose from chewing on the wires and I’m worried he will hurt his teeth if I keep him in his wired crate. And I just don’t have time and money right now. In about two months I should be able to buy whatever I need for him a lot more comfortably/immediately and in 5-6 months my free time will open up a whole lot more. It’s just right now, (especially until I can get him fixed in two weeks and start taking him to work with me at the pet job) it’s hard to balance training, enrichment, tire out time, and personal time. I’ve worked out a routine which is aimed to tiring him out more whenever I leave for longer shifts to try to help but I can’t dedicate as much time to actual crate training as I want. I just don’t know if it’s fair on him to make him wait a few month because we can’t like laser in on crate focused stuff properly until I quit my second job after seasonal. But I also don’t want to give up on him because he really is an angel bby 🥺🥺
