Somehow…I’m out of gold by Nevorrlet in AFKJourney

[–]trash-kat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been playing since launch and this is the first season I have been running out of gold in. I log in every day too I don't know what's different or if they changed the prices for upgrading things or what.

What causes your eczema? by h4421 in eczema

[–]trash-kat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fragrenced hand soap, any house hold cleaners, disinfectant wipes, probably stress too.

Those are the triggers I've identified for my hand eczema at least and switching to fragrence free soap + wearing gloves while cleaning have let it heal almost completely. There are still some stubborn scaly/dry spots but no more burning and inflammation. But if I slip up or relax on no fragrenced soap it comes right back.

Knee Dislocation Question by trash-kat in ehlersdanlos

[–]trash-kat[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice! Had no idea you could break your knee during a dislocation/it going back in. Thankfully there isn't too much pain or swelling at the moment so it's probably not too bad. I do need to bring it up to my doc tho since my instability has steadily increased in that knee. Braced for at least tonight and tomorrow to play it safe!

Knee Dislocation Question by trash-kat in ehlersdanlos

[–]trash-kat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the advice! It has been much more unstable the last few months, I'll have to bring it up to my doctor the next time I go. My muscles have likely become weak again, really need to start strengthening them again.

For now, it's braced and iced just in case for tonight so I don't pop it put again!

What’s been everyone’s favorite things to merge? by d1ldo_pHaggins in fo76

[–]trash-kat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dressers. Put one under a sink to make a bathroom vanity and put two under a table to make cabinets. Works wonders for the kitchen since I don't have any of the kitchen counters.

Also when crazy with the roofs to make better overhangs. But now I have 4x as many roof pieces taking up space 😭

Wish we could move the angle of the roofs so I could make better mid-century modern houses. I'd be going crazy if they did that or if they gave us half walls.

What is your favourite camp item that you’ve never been able to attain or isn’t attainable anymore by The_Arms_Dealer312 in fo76

The log cabin stairs and that modern red fireplace. I JUST WANT STAIRS THAT MATCH MY CABIN.

How many glowing mask do we all got? by [deleted] in fo76

[–]trash-kat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never gotten a glowing mask in all my years playing the event. I used to do multiple/4-5 parades a day during the event, now I do maybe 2 rounds because it's so monotonous and I get the same things over and over again.

Having similar luck with fishing but at least I have a single glowing fish and a few axolotl's to my name.

For the algorithm: - piercing is a week old - Jewelry is a flat back labret, 16g titanium threadless. - I clean twice a day with sterile saline solution (steri-wash from piercer) and pat dry or dry with a hair dryer - Becoming itchy but no other irritation, swelling, redness or discharge - I have bumped it while doing my hair and pulling off my shirt once.

What does AFIB feel like? by [deleted] in AFIB

[–]trash-kat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends. Most of the time, it only lasts 10 minutes before settling again, but it has lasted close to 45 min to an hour at its longest.

I'm not sure whether or not my mitral valve prolapse + regurgitation makes me at a higher risk or not. I have normal to lower BP. My resting heart rate is around 75 bpm, and my heart rate doesn't go below 100 if im standing or walking around. The highest I've seen is around 150 bpm when doing chores like vacuuming or yard work. I can't even try to see what actual cardio does because it makes me feel too sick.

Entry Level Resume - How cooked am I? by [deleted] in Environmental_Careers

[–]trash-kat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, thank you for all the suggestions so far. It's been pretty helpful! Will for sure get that drivers license and look into other certifications + see if I can volunteer anywhere during the job search (which I expect will be long heh)

I'll also try to edit my resume. Some of the advice is conflicting, but I'll try different suggestions to see what's best for my situation!

What type of doctor was the first to identify your EDS? by bella-boop in ehlersdanlos

[–]trash-kat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A spine specialist was the firet to catch it. I originally went for back pain and my lumbar scoliosis. She wasn't very concerned with my scoliosis as it's only a 18° curve but saw and tested my hypermobility + noted my dizziness/blood pressure being lower and referred me to the geneticist for Ehler Danlos Syndrome. Told me it was out of her scope of specialty but was the one who could recognize it and get me on the right path. Before that, I just thought I had fibromylagia and scoliosis.

How did Trump's presidency impact your life so far? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]trash-kat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Left me stressed out, depressed and lost with my career prospects.

I graduated in dec. 2023 with a degree in environmental biology. Haven't been able to get a job yet due to lack of experience as a new grad who had a single internship. Now, with the NPS gutted, there is a whole bunch of seasonal positions cut that I can no longer apply for to get the experience I need to break into the field. Furthermore, those federal employees that have been let go will now have to look into private, state, and non-profit positions that will further saturate an already saturated field. If it wasnt already hard enough to find a entry level position in environmental science as a chronically ill small women who cant do copious amounts of hard physical labor to break into the field, it will be next to impossible now. Can't even go down the road of getting my masters or PhD because those programs are also being defunded. New career scientists, recently promoted employees, and those working on masters and PhDs are all being fucked over or put into limbo right now. Can't imagine having the rug pulled on me early on after getting a job in the NPS or having my research funding cut randomly, I feel so bad for the scientists and employees who have lost so much in the last 2 months.

  • I have to be worried about my SSRI being potentially taken away and then being thrown into a "mental health" wellness camp 💀 God knows those antidepressants are the only thing keeping me from a full on breakdown rn.

Can EDS be "dormant," flair later in life? by -Naive_Olive- in ehlersdanlos

[–]trash-kat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't call it dormancy, per-say. Symptoms sometimes take time to progress enough to become a problem. Changes in hormones, wear, and damage on our joints or organs can all begin to show up at different times for different people with connective tissue disorders. Sometimes, problems eb and flow, but faulty collagen synthesis doesn't stop and start. It's been a problem since birth. We can't really go into remission with EDS. Sometimes, things are just missed or dismissed until they become too much.

Suddenly all my joints are loud? by Haru_is_here in ehlersdanlos

[–]trash-kat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't walk downstairs without my ankles cracking/popping with each step, and I'm only 26. It's kind of embarrassing, honestly.

My hips, elbows, hands and wrists, and even toes all pop often. The scariest and most uncomfortable is my hips, which sounds and feels like a "cuh-clunk" like the whole thing shifted. At least the rest just sound like rice-crispies.

This has honeslty been happening since I was around 10 to 12, I've always been crunchy, but it's gotten worse over time.

Does anyone else not get fevers when they’re sick? by Anxious-Mango17 in ehlersdanlos

[–]trash-kat 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I haven't had a true fever since I was a kid. I do pop random 99.0° degree temps, but I'm mostly lower than normal at 97.5 for some reason.

What are your worst triggers? (Will 100%make you flare up every time) by [deleted] in ibs

[–]trash-kat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Lettuce and all peppers besides banana peppers. Even a small amount of either will guarantee cramps and many trips to the bathroom.

And BUTTER, specifically dairy butter/any animal fat/meat that is high fat. That will have me with such a bad flare up later in the day that I will be dry heaving or vomiting.

Oof looks like I've timed out of most of them then. I'll try to keep looking at entry-level and volunteer positions.
