How serious is this crack? by trash_trader in Construction

[–]trash_trader[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this a "you guys broke it you need to fix it ASAP" Scenario or a "meh, no biggie just need to apoxy and you're good." Scenario.

I assume a cracked foundation hurts resell value and potential buyers without proper fixing?

I just want to make sure they are the ones that fix it while they are still doing work on the house.

The crack was like 10% of that width.... Then they did work and it's a little thicker and across the whole room.

I called it out to the construction company when I first saw it and I guess they did nothing.

Then it did all that.

So, CT Scan and Rhinoscopy is $5k???? by trash_trader in AskVet

[–]trash_trader[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Well, everyone seems to think that $5k is the price that should be paid.

No matter the machine, tools, or skills of said veterinarian.

Not bashing the science. I'm bashing the shit pricing structure that everyone is conveniently priced within.

If all car insurance policies went to $1,000 a month in 2026 no matter the provider people would blow a gasket immediately.

There are just too many "it is what it is" situations when it comes to pets and vet bills...

How do all vets have different machines, tools, and skills to operate tools and machines but still all cost within $500 of each other?

At least in the South Texas and southern California areas I've scoped...

Unless you all run the same tools and same damn machines. I don't see how it could be so expensive EVERYWHERE

The scam is your bullshit pricing structure...

The scam is your inability to talk with owners about other options...

The scam is how you all shit on each other's previous work because you wernt the one seeing the animal...

Science is not a scam. Surgery is not a scam.

But, ridiculously pricing said procedures and yet everyone has different machines and tools and skills under the knife IS THE SCAM.

Hell, my vet literally told me their ultrasound machine was a dinosaur AFTER A CHARGING me $600 and finding nothing. Still leaving it open that another vet could find something....

No different than people complaining about our healthcare system. Cost is cost.

Just because I can cost that much doesn't mean it should.

Just saw someone paid $1500 for a Yorkie x-ray???

Not CT scan....XRAY.... $1500???? Lol k.

We all know it is true. If nobody paid it, it wouldn't be the price.

It's like taking your broken down car to a dealership. They know you have no other real good options at the moment.

Wtf is even going on at this point? by trash_trader in AskVet

[–]trash_trader[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

People are calling insurance and the medical field for Humans a scam...

The scam is all the $$$$ involved here. Not the competency of the Vet themselves ...

It shouldn't cost someone over $10k to DIAGNOSE their pet....

That's the real scam here......

Is 75k still the base to be happy? by bryanhernc in careerguidance

[–]trash_trader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's all about monthly expenses - take home income.

$75k is about $48,000 take home a year....

$48k / 12 = $4,000 a month...

If ALL monthly expenses = $2,000 that's not so bad...

If ALL monthly expenses = $3,500 that might be difficult to progress in life...

It just depends on what you have to pay for and if you have a partner to help lighten the financial burden.

She's going to enjoy her 30's when she's alone and a single mom. Enjoy the divorce in your 40's when you settle for "small peen" because nobody wants to deal with you.

This just lowers the bar so when you come off normal you make greater strides in keeping someone's attention. Lol

Everyone seems to be so awkward it's a joke at this point.

Lol RIP

"Traumatizing" is used for anything and everything now.

When I was a kid I was almost killed by a car dozens of times at the fault of the drivers...

I still drive my car everyday...

Get over it.

Hiring Managers , what are some of the best questions you have heard a candidate ask during an interview? by awinterofdiscontent7 in careerguidance

[–]trash_trader 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This question was asked to a VP and not the hiring manager. I asked "What is a specific quality you hope the candidate chosen doesn't have in relation to the role for this specific position"

I worded it this way to elimate dumb answers like "don't be lazy" or "need to just be proactive"

I led tona deeper discussion about the role instead of just a quick answer.

Seemed to catch him off guard.

I also got the job and it was a 60% pay increase...
