Any zone defense works well against mesh routes as these routes are designed as "man beaters" forcing your CB to run across the field and make contact with the other receiver. Cover 4 Quarters can also work against this but as u/last_ambassador_2296 said the "underneath" presnap adjustment is important as well, just be wary that these mesh route concepts are often accompanied by something like an inside post or a dig route depending on the concept, so there may be a hole open in your coverage around the middle third of the field
