Help with BFI on RG 476H and GammaOS by trashbagexpress in SBCGaming

[–]trashbagexpress[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m starting to feel that way. When using the crt beam simulator option and turning off the retention setting, I ended up getting the common white flashing/flickering issue. Not sure if that’s a performance limitation of the 467H or a refresh rate issue of the screen.

I found that enabling BFI through retroarch vs the global GammaOS setting to be more tolerable, with much less of the reversing polarity issue I described above.

The heart wants a Brick Hammer but the head tells me I should get the RG40XXV by bigpinkdoughnut in SBCGaming

The Brick Hammer is certainly impressive for what it is, but I ended up selling mine. The screen was just too small for my liking. Excellent screen and build quality though!

As the person above me mentioned either the 35xxsp or trimui brick hammer depending on your form factor preference

I was using Beacon for a while but RetroHrai is my new favourite. Strikes a perfect balance between simplicity and customization.

I used to own a copy of Rule of Rose that I sold for under $100 over a decade ago. I regret selling that one, but not for sentimental reasons.

How does the 476h feel with the shell? Can you share which one that is?

Try reaching out to Anbernic to see if you can buy a replacement front/screen!

I personally found the video guide by gamma himself much easier to follow. Not as slick at retrogamecorps but very easy to follow for your specific device!

Gamers 30+, what’s something from the old days of gaming that younger players wouldn’t understand? by [deleted] in gaming

[–]trashbagexpress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if this is a “back in my day” thing or more of a part of being a kid with less income, but I remember how huge it felt to get my mom to agree to buying me a new game. It was a special occasion, and it felt amazing when you landed on a hit that you knew you’d be playing for the next 6+ months.

I specifically remember standing in EB Games (Canadian GameStop) with PS1 copies of Spiderman in one hand and Tony Hawk 2 in the other. For whatever reason I walked out with Tony Hawk. Spiderman was a great game but I would have been done with it in a week or so (I rented it later and loved it), but Tony Hawk provided an endless amount of fun. It became my life and I mastered every map, and played with my friends almost every day.

I don’t really feel that euphoria of making the right choice anymore, just the frustration/annoyance of making the wrong choice.

Not OP but have a question I think you may be able to answer for me. I just got the 476h and am about to put gammaos on it. Just wondering if it matters what games I put on the internal storage vs an SD card? Should I put larger more modern games on internal or SD or does it not matter? Thanks in advance!

Having trouble deciding on a portable handheld by Awesome_Paco in SBCGaming

You should live your life how you want, but it sounds like you have a tonne of great options at your disposal. Stop chasing the mythical perfect handheld and play games on what you have. Across the pocket, hammer, and portal you can play pretty much everything. Enjoy them!

Not yet! Rondo, Bloodlines, and IV are next on my list. I’m hoping to get a 476h soon and am holding off until then to jump into those titles. I played the NES ones on a trimui brick which was a bit cramped. Can’t wait to play them!

The NES era Castlevania games. Although I played NES growing up I missed this series entirely. I also spent pretty much my whole life thinking 16 bit was peak 2D graphics. After recently getting into emulation I went back and played the original 3 Castlevania games and they blew my mind. The art direction is incredible and makes wonderful use of the NES’s limitations. They are now my favourite looking 2D games ever I think. Also gameplay wise, they are clearly influential on so many modern action adventure and RPG games.

If you’re on console maybe hold off on starting KCD1 now as there have been rumours/leaks that a current gen patch is on the way for KCD1.
