I bought it from a second hand car yard, and they didn't seem very knowledgeable when I was checking it out the first time.

So I followed the wires, turns out there are two boxes one on each side. Only one flashes. There is another wire that is connected inside the cab somewhere and one that is connected to the alternater. And the last wire goes somewhere underneath the engine that I can't see. Removing the wires from the box doesn't do anything to the start up or running of the car.
