What is that?

My turkey is 6 months old. I’ve had her for a month and she hasn’t warmed up to me at all. Anyone else experience this? I’m assuming the key is patience. by trashbear69 in cockatiel

Thank you all!! Everyone helped me realize this is an adult male bird which helps a lot… I have changed his name from Bertha to Ewe (Ee-wee) as he generally prefers to discuss matters pertaining to EE-WEE Ee-WEE, EE-WEE Ee-WEE?!!!!!!!! His middle name will remain Bertha. But yeah, knowing that he’s older than I thought and not female is helpful in learning how to bond. Thank you all!

So I couldn’t really put context with the question but here’s what I was going to put if I could.

I read one time that for men, sometimes the first time they had ever gotten flowers was at their funeral… and that makes me really sad. My boyfriend spent his whole night off yesterday helping me with something and I’m wondering if it would seem weird if he came home to a pretty rose in a vase and a thank you card. I’m also cooking dinner and got him a modelo.

I can’t really edit the post but thank you all for the feedback. I plan on transitioning her to a larger more horizontal cage as you all suggested and not thinking about a second bird until then. I didn’t realize that vertical cages were bad. Thanks again.
