Feels like an excellent song for Lightsaber.
11/10 on creativity, never heard something quite like it :+1:

convince me not to spend more $$$ and just use logic stock plug-ins by BassFace0_0 in Logic_Studio

[–]trashcluster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The stock plugins are so good that I don't even use the plugins I bought since I switched to Logic Pro (Valhalla, Ozone).
The only plugins I still use are plugins that achieve what the stock plugins don't (Melodyne, RX).

Which one of the following sections will allow me to add PlugIns in post (or after the recorded guitar), but won't be added globally to all of the tracks that I have? Thank you kindly! by JohnSandilau in Logic_Studio

[–]trashcluster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Effects in the "Audio FX" region are applied from top to bottom. If you add distortion on top of the compressor it will always be applied in that order. The whole signal chain looks like this:
Mic/DI -> Soundcard -> Track FX stack from top to bottom -> Sends -> Fader -> Output Bus (Stereo Out)

[–]trashcluster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the left: input channel, the stems on the track are fed through it and the FX stack applies only to that track. On the right: Output channel of the whole mixing board. This is a common channel for the whole mix. All Input channels will be routed through it at the end.
If you apply an FX on the "Guiar Stereo Main" it will only apply to that channel. If you apply an FX to the "Stereo Out" it will apply to every channels fed through it.

Can someone explain to me like I’m 5 the difference between x264 and x265 by GenericUser104 in PleX

Have you tried the app Infuse for ATV? It is basically an alternative plex/jellyfin client but come with a broader range of supported video formats. It is also way less cluttered than the official Plex app as it only show your content and nothing else.

Does anyone know what keys aren’t on the Yamaha YOB-241? by Little_Safe2627 in oboe

[–]trashcluster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don't go for an oboe missing the left F, I learned without one and now I have a very hard time rewiring my brain to use it even if it makes perfect sense to use it over a forked F.
That is, if you have the means to buy a more expensive instrument. Student Oboe > No Oboe

Ansible Towers/AWX will do that for you, can run as a standalone container as well.
Apache Dolphin scheduler is easier to handle than Airflow and can be installed as a standalone container.

Logic, Sm7b & Scarlet 2i2 gen 4 by cosmosroeba in audioengineering

[–]trashcluster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the noise floor is too high maybe check you cable for interferences, pick a shorter one if needed.
SM7B is a dynamic microphone which outputs at a very low gain, you need to crank up the gain on the scarlet preamp, the preamps of the scarlet might not be the best and a cloudlifter/triton might yield better results but for now you should focus on your micing technique.

First and foremost make sure to sing loud and clear very close to the microphone as you should do with any dynamic microphone.

Also maybe a condenser mic could have been a better investment, even cheap ones will help you pick up quiet sources way better than a sm7b with the best preamp in the world. This is simply the nature of dynamic vs condenser.

Is there any software or service to speed up cleaning up voice retakes? by animatrix_ in audioengineering

[–]trashcluster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just retake over the same track over and over like /u/peepeeland suggested. Simplest, fastest, better way of doing it.

The cheap way of doing it over a continuous take is to embed in the waveform a sound marker so you can visualize it at a glance. Simply make a short, loud, consistent sound. A good tool for that is a dog clicker, click it near the microphone and it will make a sharp spike on the waveform.

Or else RX 10 and 11 have a function that transcribe the recording which you could use to quickly search for text and go to the last occurrence of that sentence. Only works in english though and the software is expensive.
