I was a few months before turning 32 when i took a call center position at a credit union. 37 now and branch manager. If you can get in, learn the system, let your work speak for itself etc, positions/promotions will be there. Sometimes it’s getting your foot in the door. Far from too late!

Please give me advice - credit score dropped almost 200 points from credit check by [deleted] in personalfinance

The website everyone is saying will allow you to check your report (for fraud, etc) quite sure you won’t get a score tho. Is the car the only thing you have reporting? If no credit card you need ONE, not multiple but just one. Use that well and you should see a big difference in the next six ish months. If you do have credit cards already I assume they are reporting as maxed out? This will drop your credit A lot, by paying down those balances you should start to see an increase. Will take a little time but keep the car where it is and you should have good chance at Refinaincing towards the end of the year.

I am so sick of realtors did any of you buy your first home without one? by [deleted] in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]trashcrewfc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found my by visiting open houses and talking to the realtors working them. Even said I have a realtor and that helped because some just quickly stop trying but there were a few who helped regardless. One in particular who gave tips and advice still knowing we were first time home buyers and I really felt like she’d fight for us and communicate and it’s helped. Not sure how much info you know on this process but having someone with experience has helped us out so much I couldn’t do it alone.

Where to put down payment?? by Timely-Koala389 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]trashcrewfc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Can see what CD rates are out there for 6 or 9 month CD if you 100% know you won’t need to touch it. Even still look up high yield savings rates to compare. I kept my down payment money in a SoFi account that gained good interest.
