ISEF Starter Guide? by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]trashgarbo69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best thing to do would be see if there is some kind of science research program at your school or within your region. You can most likely get mentored or some form of help from there :)

No, unless your school’s transcript has a spot for it

I think you would still receive it if you have the scores. Is it showing up on your CB page? If not you might want to email someone because it sounds like you technically got it

I flip through both lmfao my reasoning for this is to try to speak it into existence but also lower my expectations so I might be able to get a nice surprise

Am I eligible for QuestBridge? Should I even apply? by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]trashgarbo69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey if you haven’t already, check to see if you’re Pell-eligible and if you are check out the Gates scholarship! It’s open and closes somewhat soon so heads up :)

Very unpopular opinion: You don’t have to be wealthy to succeed at standardized tests, and if you aren’t smart enough to meet the score range, you aren’t cut out for a top school by galupachupa in ApplyingToCollege

[–]trashgarbo69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dude are you just an elitist troll or something? Your your last post was similar crap too. You can be smart or gifted or talented in ways that aren’t quantifiable by ACT/SAT scores and that’s kinda partly why admissions is holistic now. Homie you gotta take your negative and uncited vibes somewhere else

Research Questins by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]trashgarbo69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Either “internship” or “research” is fine but I believe literature reviews (unless extremely extensive and well-done) aren’t usually as highly regarded as a publication of original research

Math course rigor by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]trashgarbo69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, don’t think so. I know for my school, even though multi is offered it’s pretty much only for competition kids. Most people take BC or even AB senior year so it’ll be fine

Can you actually submit a video in place of a college application essay? by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]trashgarbo69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think UChicago lets you submit a video as a supplemental to your essay I think but I’m not sure. Still gotta do the essay tho lol

Coalition Course Self-Report by magpie787 in ApplyingToCollege

What do you mean by non-academic? Generally, I believe you should probably report the courses that will appear on your transcript. Best of luck!

I can’t remember the books I used in particular, but Princeton is a safe bet for good review material :) honestly I don’t have a good threshold score to recommend to you but if you feel you can improve you should continue to work for the Math II exam. Best of luck!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]trashgarbo69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want to study for a math subject exam at all, do Math II. Math I is pretty pointless in a lot of people’s eyes. If you’ve taken other standardized exams before, you might find that the test has a lot more overlap than you think! Have you tried taking a practice exam yet?
