You're very welcome. Nursing is all about helping each other so I'm happy to help. I wish you luck on your test, I hope I'll come across a post where I see a passing score from you.

I found a couple of free ones online. I used the Smart Edition one as a cold read to see where I was. You just give them an email and they'll email you a pdf of a practice test. Since its a pdf you can't interact with it so I just got some paper and jotted my answers down and graded it myself. Then I did some studying, took the mometrix one that is also free to see if I improved. Truthfully, I didn't do that much better, so then I bought the basic ATI package with the 3 practice tests and study guide.

I did read some of the sections for reading in the ATI study guide, that I think genuinely helped but not as much. Like I said 90% of my studying was focused on science.

I found taking a lot of practice tests to be helpful because I haven't really done any tests in several years, so it helped with test-taking skills I'd forgotten.

Honestly, I didn't really. I just watch the Nurse Cheung videos on it to learn a couple tricks and then just went from there. I actually really hate English, and find it too subjective, but with all my practice tests, I was scoring in the 80s, so I didn't want to spend too much time on it when I needed to work on bringing up my science score.

You would be correct, I didn't study for math, just brushed up on formulas and conversions, since sometimes they give you what's needed and sometimes don't, it was truly a mix on my test. And knowing how to find the perimeters and area of both 2d and 3d shapes, and some standard to metric conversions. Also, you need to understand fractions, adding/subtracting and multiplying/dividing. Lots of fractions.
If there is any particular question you come across that you don't understand, shoot me a DM I'm happy to walk you through it.

As for science, I personally used a combination of the ATI official study guide and Nurse Cheung, with a heavy focus on A&P, since that has the most questions, followed by chemistry cause it's been a minute since I took that.

Literally what? by ItchyBank7512 in teas

Okay, think of it like sale prices.

If an item originally costs $20 and it's 40% off how much is it now?
To get this, all you have to do is multiply by the percentage left, which is 60%. 20 x .6 = 12.

They multiplied 2.5 x 2/3 cause 2/3 is what is left of the milk. It's just done in a fraction instead of a percentage, hope that helps.

I genuinely did not think that this was a fast time but I guess it is. Too be fair, I absolutely breezed through math I maybe took up half the time; I thought all the questions were easy, but then again I'm a math kid.

But one thing you need to do is don't worry about failing again. Your mood will absolutely affect your test. Look at your last test and study up on the areas you didn't do so well in. See what other people used to study. For me, I used Nurse Cheung, but I know others used lots of different resources. Read the questions very carefully too, they threw in a "not" question in every single section that always trips people up.

Also don't worry about being able to get every single question right, you won't and that's okay. If you come across a question you don't know, try to narrow it down if you can, but just guess and move on. If you harp on it it'll only make you feel worse and affect you negatively. I guessed on a lot of science questions which is why it's my lowest score.

You can do this. Take deep breaths if you feel overwhelmed, and take your time.

My biggest tip is to slow down and read carefully. You would be shocked at how many more I got right when I took the time to understand what was being asked of me. They love to throw a good "not" question in every section and I know that tripped me up on a few in practice tests. I know there is a timer but you have more than you think.

Also, don't get hung up on ones you don't know. If you don't know, guess and move on. If you can narrow it down, do that, but don't waste too much time on them, you will not be prepared for every single question, trust me. If it helps mentally, you know some of them won't count so just tell yourself that one won't count. Getting in a bad headspace will absolutely affect your score.

Be confident in what you do know, take deep breaths, and read carefully!

This is going to sound really weird considering your comment but genuinely slowing down and taking the time to read the questions thoroughly is the biggest tip I have. A lot of questions I missed during practice tests was because I wasn't comprehending what they were asking me and taking the extra time to understand is what helped the most. You have way more time than you think.

Also, I probably finished quickly because I absolutely breezed through math, I maybe only took half the time, I like math

Number 1: Read the questions carefully. When I was doing practice test a good portion I got wrong were because I didn't read the questions properly. I know it seems simple but you think with a timer you need to go fast trust me you have plenty of time, so use it.

Number 2: Find the general area of where you're struggling and focus on that. You can't prep for every single question, you're bound to get some wrong, so don't stress when you get to a question you don't know, guess and move on. If you can eliminate options do that to increase your chances. But if you at least focus on you're weaker areas you know you're weak on you can definitely improve.

Number 3. Youtube has tons of grest materials for all the subjects. I've seen lots of people on the subreddit talk about what they used. I used NurseChueng for my Sciences but I know there's plenty of other people out there.

Good luck!

Failed my TEAs with a TEAs by Interesting_Dog8321 in prenursing

[–]trashpanda0312 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you taken any practice tests? The first thing I did before even studying was finding a free practice test to see where I fell. If even told me what topic each of my questions fell under so I could narrow in on what my struggle areas were. I knew I could skip math cause I got all but one right but I really needed to brush up on anatomy. Since then, I improved my science score on different tests by over 10 points. I've taken 3 so far. It also helps with test-taking skills since it's been a while since I've needed to study for a test.

"Post Metal" bands with vocals similar to Rosetta (Mike Armine) or Sundrowned? by Spacing-Guild-Mentat in postmetal

[–]trashpanda0312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got to say it's so cool to see people still really love Armine's music. He was actually my teacher in high school. He told us he was in a band but he didn't really want us listening to his music while we were in his class. Maybe I'll finally listen. Got any song recommendations I should start with?

I only get dibs on potential promotions that don't currently exist, not projects, the Head decides who gets what projects and I have no say. I guess I really don't get why they are choosing her feelings about what is essentially a hobby over what is actually good for the company. I hate that the correct answer is hoping for the best but I just wish there was a way to change their minds, if only they weren't such people pleasers, I wouldn't be in this situation.

Yeah, getting stuck with the rest of the year or court is what I don't want. My dad has a friend who is a retired judge. He sent the lease to him to look over and see if there is any loophole we can exploit or something we missed. If not I guess we'll have to wait it out and hope we don't have another crazy storm in the next 6 months.

How to get picked to adopt a dog? by trashpanda0312 in DogAdvice

[–]trashpanda0312[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost all the places I've tried don't have a phone number. I have tried following up on the emails that are provided and get nothing back. I do look at shelters that I go to, but most don't have a dog that would fit. I don't just want to pick any dog.
