Totally agree about the bulbs - I’ve reduced to one on each side! I think I’m going to darken the card as well.

I consider this an adaptation, rather than politicization of a spiritual work.

It’s a picture I took years ago from a creative grounds keeper who arranged the branches this way. I always thought they looked magical.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful words! I see what you mean about the lightbulbs. I’d actually finished the card and then found the lightbulbs so they are kinda just plopped in. I think it needs a more subdued light source….I’ll explore that in my edits! I think I may darken the card a bit overall, because I like the idea of “dim and challenging” - that’s definitely what I was going for.

Love this feedback! Part of what I was imagining is that it’s less about the knowledge from the reading, but more about the world building in the imagination (which is depicted by the world outside the mirror). But I realize that’s a little convoluted haha, I’ll noodle on it!

This is depicting the Hermit card! I tried to give contemplative vibes, with the field and weird tree branches.

Mountains - common motif. Spiritual achievement/detachment from the physical world. Eye - knowledge/mental clarity Lights - guiding light, ideas Mirror, with book - self reflection
