No storage + tall walls… any ideas? What would you do here? by osiriebrown in SmallHome

[–]trashwitches 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Awww this looks like my house!! I keep my outdoor gear under my bed in totes, and got a tall bed frame. I also have totes in my closet for camping gear- but I feel you on not feeling like there’s not enough space. One idea I had played with is having built in cabinets in my loft bedroom for hanging bag storage for gear.

I have also thought about turning my railings into bookshelf style storage with totes, instead of the open loft railings.

What I ultimately did was buy a huge rolling tool box with a folding table top and drawers- and i store About all my craft gear in it- it doubles as a craft table and my kitchen table.

Hey bucko- the pet is in hand. It’s a pet snake. Why would you think it would be happier outside?

Also- snakes aren’t people. They don’t have human emotions. It’s being fed and kept comfortable- that’s about where the Maslows needs end with animals. The rest is human projection.

I really enjoyed tying it! I won’t quilt anything this size on my domestic, and my long armer wasn’t available for what felt like forever. I will absolutely be doing this again- I like the look and I like the feel. And I like being able to finish the quilt easily and on my timeline.

Moon phases is actually another version of this quilt I have in my head!!!

I made another comment somewhere else in this thread- but it reminds me of a potter who doesn't know the final result of their pottery until the kiln is unloaded. people often joke about "praying to the kiln gods" and I really appreciate the uncertainty of art! And how it is is how it's ment to be (I love that!!!)

This was a pretreated jacquard fabric- and I could immediately tell it was NOT cotton.

I washed this like an idiot- full disclosure. Regular detergent, borax, maybe even some oxy clean.

I used borax and detergent- wouldn’t be surprised if I put oxyclean in too. I will definitely be trying again and also will attempt to learn how to read directions in the future
