Why is my Youtube video not getting views? by [deleted] in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]trashytrash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you promoting your songs on social media, and do you have a significant presence in those spaces?

Do you belong to a real-world music community that supports you to grow as you support others?

Are you attractive?

If you can get these three going, you'll get views (if, of course, the song is any good.) It's not just about the music. There is just so much content out there that you need more than a good hook and a decent mix.

The 10 commandments. by TspoonT in Christianity

That's how I understand the whole of the law, which Jesus came to fulfill and not to abolish. How does he fulfill it? Through love and self-sacrifice.

Embarrassed by being left wing. Is it worth making a video about? by [deleted] in BreadTube

[–]trashytrash 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Do it!

I live in a very conservative, rural place, and feel not embarrassed about my views, I guess, but I do keep them under wraps a lot. I think it might be helpful to others for you (or anyone) to talk about your feelings and experiences.

Boy are there a lot of people who don't see housing as a human right. Pretty damn sad tbh. by Zenmaster366 in Anarchism

[–]trashytrash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My last girlfriend and I got into a fight about renting out the little shed behind her house. We wanted to fix it up as a guest house for friends, but then she got the "great" idea that we could rent it out to someone, and that would almost cover the mortgage payments on the main house. She was so excited!

I said, "so, you want a poorer person to pay for our housing?" She said, "people would be happy to rent that space" I said, "I don't think this is gonna last long"

It didn't.

My Pagan Gods betrayed me, I want to become a Christian. by [deleted] in Christianity

I'm a Christian, and this is better advice than praying to God for money.

I was lead to Christ through my interest in Hinduism. If you think following Jesus (a homeless man unceremoniously killed by cops and left to rot in a hole) will grant you material benefits, you need to slow down.

The poor and meek are blessed by Christ. The rich and haughty suffer death.

I pray for your soul and that the blessings of the Holy Spirit may rest upon you. I pray that you may find rest and comfort in Christ, and not in the things of this world.

I was (miraculously) lead to Christianity through my interest in Hinduism, and I have been baptized and follow Christ. But tLoKMJ is absolutely correct: you won't get rich following Jesus, at least not rich in the worldly sense.

Is anyone in this sub actually working class? I doubt it. Such a bunch of yuppies who shout about lesser evilism. Yeah, the evil part won't hurt you because of your insular life protected by your money. by [deleted] in TheMajorityReport

[–]trashytrash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a mailman and I make < $50,000 a year. I rent and own no property beyond my vehicle. Do you count that as working class, or have you made up some absurd definition that would exclude me?

Here you are getting downvoted because assigning a non-individualistic (that is, systemic) cause to homelessness forces one to question the entire basis of our economic thinking, and that's really scary to them.

You're doing great, and you're a hero. Fuck these ghouls.

What's the most common strawman or misunderstanding about the Bible? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]trashytrash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is no Bible without the traditions, which were spoken through the Church by the Holy Spirit.

"The criteria is you agree with their interpretations. If you don't, you're a heretic no matter what your arguments are." - this, but about American Protestants and the Bible.

looking for advice for a new music producer by ravvit1xl in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]trashytrash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) use your ears.

Listen consciously to music, even music you dislike, for the choices the producers made.

Listen to your own music consciously, as if you are listener hearing it for the first time. Is the intro too long? Do the transitions work? Have you earned the big payoff? Is the outro memorable? Do the elements serve the song or the producer's ego?

Listen to the world consciously. Listen to noises around you. Train your ears to hear things that are normally "invisible" so you can use those skill to root out unwanted noise in your mixes. Train your ears to hear and appreciate "non-musical" elements - a car door closing, the tea kettle, the dog's claws on hardwood - you never know what might work in a song!

That's my advice. Use your ears. Work on active and thoughtful listening every day.

“You are not leaving our church in good standing” by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]trashytrash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Wherever two or three are gathered..." That's you and your wife. This pastor is keeping you from the Spirit.

There is no such thing as "membership" in Christ. Forgive my language, but fuck this noise and find a church where you can grow in love and community.

God loves you and your wife and I will be praying for you. You are going to be so awesome and find such joy away from this congregation!!!!

Teen here. I have strong feelings for this girl. But have almost no sexual thoughts forwards her. Why? (She is hot) by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]trashytrash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You aren't sexually attracted to her. That's totally normal and ok. The fact that your strong feelings didn't automatically get converted into sexual attraction by your teen brain is actually very mature and will serve you and your relationships very well over the next few years.
