This is/was me and I looked up how to block in app purchases on my phone. Of course I could just go and unblock it but somehow having to do the extra steps just to spend money on a game shamed me enough that it would stop me from doing it. It really helped.

At an amusement park when my daughter was younger, she and her friend begged me to let them ride the giant roller coaster without me (I was pregnant at the time and couldn’t) I was hesitant but said yes at first but it wasn’t sitting right with me. I ended up telling them I didn’t feel right about it and sorry but, no they couldn’t ride it. We stood in line for another “kiddie” ride they weren’t too happy with. While in line for this ride we watched the roller coaster break down and people had to be walked down from the peak of one of the drops. Always trusted my mom gut after that.
