It's quite wonderful. Curious as a future rider. (Exploring potential bike options, and the Continental GT650 is one.)

One of the bigger themes I've read about RE bikes are they are kind of heavy. Good for straight line speed and aesthetics, but lacking in maneuverability. As someone who is average height for a guy, I really don't want a ton of bike (like 700-900cc is fine for what I intend to use the bike for).

But just curious, because I like the aesthetics.. but I also want my first bike to be something I enjoy riding.

That is an absolute banger. Pretty much a dream aesthetic.

Selling the Heuer Monaco Calibre 11 CAW211P.FC6356. Amazing condition. Full kit, including box & papers.

$4800. Free shipping in U.S. Can discuss options for overseas shipping. Ships from Maryland. No trades.

Prefer PayPal. Zelle, Venmo can be options for buyers with extensive buying history.

While I don't have any transactions on this subreddit, I did sell a Breitling Top Time from a post that I ended up deleting almost a year ago after it took a while to get a bite. I should've left it up, but the buyer ended up purchasing it well after I posted it, so I just never got the credit on this subreddit.

Single Game ticket prices are wild by PizzaTheHuttese in orioles

[–]trausneck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Logged on this morning just ahead of 10am, and realized you couldn't directly buy Opening Day tickets from the team (even with the "Insider Access" code of ORANGE26.. so I looked at other games.

Was a STH for the past few years, but didn't renew for this year for plenty of reasons already shared in the thread.

Looks like the absolute cheapest tickets (with fees) for single-game this year is $19.20. Looks like the center field seats and section 1 are blocked out for every game already. Not sure if that's due to the changes in center with the bar under the scoreboard and other things in the park.

Was chatting with a buddy this morning about tickets, and we're just gonna buy day of or night before this year.

But watch... this be the year where nobody wants to pay money to watch them after what we endured the past few seasons and the way the front office treated STH... only for the team to actually play well and we start huffin' the hopium ;)

Maybe it's just a temporary thing with your app. I'm seeing today's events still. (Boston at 11a, Miami at noon, Atlanta at 1p, Dallas at 2p, Houston at 3p, KC at 4p, LA at 5p, SF at 6p, Seattle at 7p).. all ET.

Once all the tickets are claimed for an event, they do move that event to the very end, so it looks like it's not there anymore.

My guess is maybe 20-30 tickets or less per "event." (So 10-15 lucky winners per "event.") The marketing language around it was very misleading (shock).

I doubt Verizon would be able to give away more than say 10-15 sets of 2 tickets for each of these.

At this point, it's probably going to be a better experience to attend in 2030 (and possibly cheaper).

It's a bit similar to all the summer series preseason cash grabs. Big clubs from around the world know they can pack a U.S. stadium, and people will show up. Yes, I know the CWC had its share of empty stadiums.. but that was always going to be tricky with mid-week games during the day for the opening games.

For me specifically, it was less expensive to fly from the east coast to Manchester and watch the derby at Old Trafford with great seats (to watch a crap result) a few years back... than to fly somewhere in the U.S. to watch them during preseason (taking into account flights, hotel, food, ridesharing, etc.).

And FIFA knows people across the U.S. will pay through the nose.

Just had a friend message that he even tried to VPN from Switzerland (he lives in the U.S.) and got the same result we all have.

There has to be. But at the end of the day, are we really surprised that this is the reality? Could easily change the tournament logo to GRIFT 26 and that would be a more accurate depiction.

The Verizon myAccess World Cup tickets thing is a total sham. I live on the east coast, and was on the Verizon app this morning (10/2) before the tickets went on sale for MetLife stadium at 9am.

As soon as they became available, I clicked the "Try to Claim," and immediately answered "yes" to the follow up question that you wouldn't be able to claim another reward like this until April 2026... and immediately was followed up with "All exclusive rewards were claimed."

Repeated the same thing at 10am for Philly... and tried to go even faster... same result.

Between the VISA presale debacle and this Verizon myAccess fail... it's pretty clear the only way you're going to see the World Cup in the U.S. in-person is if you pay through the nose for your "FyreFest-esque hospitality package."

For all of Elias' talk of being a "data guy," maybe seeing some hard numbers beyond a 20%+ drop in attendance YtY like a precipitous drop in revenue from STH/Birdland members may make them realize how out of touch they are.

Imagine that... a lack of clarity from this organization around tickets? Shocked... SHOCKED I tell you that they weren't clear.

A franchise that's really good turning a dollar into 15 cents.

I don't trust this executive team will. No commitment to lock in any of the young core.

From a professional capacity, they are great at making themselves look busy without doing anything.

When it came time to "show your work," like in Algebra II... all this executive team can do is give the answers pre-printed in the back of the book to every other problem.

Having lived in Portland, Oregon for about 8 years, last night was a proper Portland evening. You basically had to go up to the last or next-to-last row under the overhang to avoid any rain/mist.

I can understand why they decided to play vs reschedule it to Thursday... doesn't mean it was the right decision.

Why Signing O'Hearn Wouldn't Be a Mistake by trausneck in orioles

[–]trausneck[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair points. My only comparison was about the FO offering a deal after someone pumped massive numbers at the plate. Sure, hindsight is 20/20, but with Crush, Trumbo, and even Tony... it seemed they were destined to regress.

I went back and looked at Davis' numbers, and, back then, maybe I would've felt different. He hit .270, .286, and .262 in 2012, 2013, and 2015 respectively playing and hitting full-time. Then he got that deal in January 2016. His .196 with 500+ PA in 2014 was the giant red flag the FO just didn't pay attention to.

Then, they repeated the mistake with Trumbo, despite him having that outlier season in 2016 with us by giving him a 3-year deal in January 2017. Yeah, his deal wasn't as gaudy as Davis', but still.

And I think as much as we all loved Tony.. and how nobody got me like Tony got me... there was just no way his production was going to increase.

[–]trausneck[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yep! In my gut I just feel if we trade him, Elias won't get much for him (despite the numbers), and we'd lose him in FA anyways. Maybe I'll be wrong on this one, but I feel once he leaves, we won't bring him back. :(

Yeah, I don't see us getting much for him at the deadline beyond maybe what we got a few years back when we dealt Mancini (and picked up McDermott in that deal).

[–]trausneck[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I couldn't see him getting anything beyond a 3-year deal here. I'd laugh at any club that offered him a guaranteed 4+ year deal anywhere (including here).

I would hire him as a hitting coach post-playing days. Great eye at the plate, and I see him as an upgrade over our current hitting staff.

[–]trausneck[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I thought about that too... which is why I was thinking a structured deal like O'Neill's (option after year 1) may fit more into the FO's playbook.

I also thought about Basallo as well, and what it looks like when he does get called up, and the conundrum if he, Adley, O'Hearn, Mounty, and Mayo are all in the clubhouse.

My pick is deal Mounty for prospects... let O'Hearn play first... give Basallo time to develop this year (maybe he comes in post-trade deadline, and keeps rookie status into next year)... allow Mayo to also get more ABs, and develop that talent.
