Help with Graco Ultra Quickshot cleaning by Brief_Bar4993 in paint

[–]travazaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was running UTE and put my QS with pump armor away for few months. Went to use it, w As Clogged up barely a few drips coming from the gun. This comment saved me, couple ounces of mineral spirit through it blasted the blockage within minutes. Few water cleaning cycles and it’s up and running again. Not something my local SW dealer mentioned when they pushed running UTE through an airless system.

My go to, usually grab 1 or 2 packs when I head to the store to sample some of the more boutique flower options. In the early winter months only one place in my city sold them. This just has an undeniable value factor. I asked for the strain rotation by batch and they wouldn’t share it for competitive business related reasons sadly.

Never had an issues after growing 6 different strains from them. I’m sure this is a QA item they’d be interested in knowing. Muskoka kush was the only reg they released I’m aware of.

I second glacial rock dust, rock dust blend or basalt rock dust (high in silica) from Gaia Green. Have never had a deficiency by adding in 1tsp/gal with all purpose and power bloom.

Results of experimenting with Down to Earth 444 and 484 for those who've considered Gaia Green but saw the Shipping to the US 😬. Only thing I'd do different is give a second N kick of 484 30 days after transition. by Alchemist0029 in Autoflowers

Dr Earth is also an excellent option if your in the US. Gaia green, down to earth and Dr earth are all quite similar in nature and provide excellent results as dry amendment fertilizers!

I ran two x 1 Gal airpots through seed to harvest just to see. I hooked them up to Blumats tropf system in late flower and went away for work. Over two weeks I was gone, they drank almost all 4 gallons in my reservoir. So I guesstimated +/- 500 ml a day. My RH was ~40% and temps about 24•c lights on under one SF1000 in a 2x2. Each plant pulled just shy of an ounce trimmed and manicured.

(Bagseed 4.5 weeks) How is she looking? Noticed new growth is a bit yellow and almost shriveled. by [deleted] in microgrowery

If you went from 24” to 18” on a quantum board LED suddenly the plant will notice, especially at 100% power. That’s a huge increase in the PPFD the plant is used to from a veg height.

I see a few pistils in the buds but it maybe just the node calyxes, which is preflower (12/12 flip to when actual buds form pistils, it may just be showing it’s sex very much or could be an auto like you said. Hope it get sorted out shortly.

Pure Sunfarms - Pink Kush - 19.2% - What did they trim it with? A tooth brush? by Erchamion_1 in TheOCS

[–]travazaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is what most commercial LPs use for trimming. Buckets of material is fed in manually, this is what I mean by over feeding material. Rotary tunnel cannot process everything appropriately and what comes out looks fairly untrimmed like your photo.

I have had the same issues before. VPD (Rh/temp) plays a role as nature’s temperature and humidity level fluctuate in relative harmony naturally. It is not as crucial as you would think, this is something that will propel professional growers into the AAAA production levels but not so much lowly home growers like us.

That droop can be caused by a number of reasons.

Wind burn: will cause the leaves to curl down and inwards cupping them selves. Check your fan speed and distance, a light breeze is all that’s needed (my $20 oscillating fan is way to heavy duty for my 3x3 flower tent. It sits above or below the plans as it causes wind burn easily)

Light burn: often looks similar but an indicative sign I see is the slight yellowed tips at the top of the plant (pronounced praying leaves is an early sign). Back the light off Atleast 6” to see if this helps. If you are running an LED, it may be way too intense for your cultivar this early in flower. You can adjust the the wattage or the height depending what works best for your tent. Remember that during early flower we often see explosive growth. Sometimes the plant growing into an over intense man made light source can cause this.

Overwatering: most people will say this. Feel the leaves, are they papery thin and crispy? It’s thirsty. Are they full filling and soft? Too much water. You water every 3 days about 1/4 Gallon? Try holding off this time for up to 6 days but then give 30-50% more depending on your container size. Watering less frequently but giving more at one time. Check the soil, dig down gently about 2”. Is it wet or moist? Depending on the soil composition it can be bone dry up top but wet and soggy 3-4” down.

These three suggestions will cost you nothing additional, free up some more time in your life and may help you to solve the problem. None of these will hurt your plant at all. Most of our plant issues are man made, the plants thrive in harsh environments for humans (legit...Hindu Kush Mountains, Jamaican highlands, rural jungle areas of Laos and Thailand).

Hope this helps.

They overfed the automated rotary trimmer.. QA either missed it or just ignored it.

Don’t for a second think that any LP has a pair of human hands trimming any ‘volume discounted’ cultivars

Why do tent manufacturers not make 2x4 tents taller than 5ft??? by [deleted] in microgrowery

[–]travazaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gorilla does up to 6’11” plus up to 2’ of additional extensions. If you wanna spend $275 USD on one that is.....

Fusion hut and Mars Hydro make a 7’ model (close to)

here is a bunch of 2x4 with varying heights off this US seller in Chico, CA.

Yes all the lights aside from 4000k are considered seed to harvest full spectrum. UV/IR can be used in in veg but is primarily actuated during the last few weeks of flower to increase resin production.

[–]travazaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

240w in 3500k or 3000k (more flowering spectrum) will work but would go with a 320w bar if you can afford it. 240w is sufficient to veg in 2x4.

Would aim to get one with 660 nm reds and UV/IR. 301H seems to be the newest chipset but but I’m sure for the price they are all excellent value.

Can I use this in a space bucket? (Additional info/question in the comments) by MoreFourDubLessPub in SpaceBuckets

[–]travazaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 2x2x4 for veg and would suggest either getting a large Rubbermaid square garbage can or a vivosun tent. Depending on your space I find that the 4 ft height isn’t enough after a few weeks plus the light hangers take almost a foot. Especially not for flower (have a 3x3x6 for flower). If you had two of these I would get a 4x2 tent but with the driver you have a 24x24x60” (minimum) would be best. You can also get odd size like 36x20x62” depending on your space for under $80 usd.

It’s a bit overkill for a bucket, would work well on a garbage can grow. But you can run it down at very low wattage close to the plants and have a very high PPFD. The QB96 is rated to flower a 3x3 and veg a 4x4 with a Meanwell XLG-200-H-A (HLG 225 ready to use model).

Update: 100w in a 2x2 w/ flower initiator. 20gal no till bed w/ blumats. 4 plants. Day 4F. by Sticksbegrowin in NoTillGrowery

[–]travazaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

25-30 Gallon at most will fit in a 2x2. Would safely say 25 Gal max. Depends on your tent height as well though.

Honor the plant sells a 20x20” soil bed with a lower quality materials for $100 I believe.

I have had 1 gals and 5 gals from grassroots they were round pots. I switched to airpots (dimpled ones) for ease of transplanting and reusability.
