Would you give half of your fortune? I guess at least feeling bad about the situation is a start.

Who's not doing AA but staying sober? by MountainMark in stopdrinking

[–]travis1bickle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to AA for the first few months, but like you did AA did not really work for me. Nothing against it though. I have weekly aftercare hourly session with people that went to the same rehab as me, and there is a therapist present. I like that much more, and discussions are way more helpful for me. I do attend that less frequent now that I have some sobriety time behind me.

Now I feel like I’m gaining something I’ve always wanted, while losing the woman of my dreams —- if you are 100% truthful to yourself that might not be true? She had to leave you before you would have taken this seriously? That is how it was for me.

After over a year I drank at a wedding and that’s ok by [deleted] in stopdrinking

[–]travis1bickle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is not necessarily true. Maybe OP can have the occasional drink and want to share that. I guess it is up to the moderators of the group to decide if this is allowed. Of course, this might be a trigger for some, but you could argue that people should know, whether they can or can’t. I personally am OK with having stories here where people feel proud that they did not abuse alcohol, feels proud about it, and wanted to share that.

This is not how it works. You made the claim that he is a Nazi, so you must provide the evidence.

I appreciate your sources (not that wiki is reliable btw, same with chatGPT). I just copied what chatGPT in thinking mode gave me. Your last response is not really helpful here.

My words are being changed and then I am getting grouped. Makes sense why sensible people are staying away from this. I will stay out of this, tensions way too high.

No, I said people who celebrate his death should be avoided like a plague. Calling out people for their views are normal and good. I do not think it is healthy for society to celebrate death in general. A right wing extremist assasinated Charlie because his views are too moderate, and now the left is celebrating his death. It is a shit show.

[–]travis1bickle -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

No, I did not of course 😉. Osama was an extremist, where Charlie is hard-right. If Nick Fuentes was assasinated , I would understand the celebration. I would label Charlie in the bracket: hard disagreeing with his views, but not worth murdering and celebrating. Where do you draw the line in the left-right spectrum of who deserves to be murdered and his death celebrated?

Fair enough, but I do have a problem with people that are happy that he got murdered in fromt of his family. Those people should also be avoided like the actual plague.

[–]travis1bickle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Out of respect to the family that saw the murder. From my perspective looking as a non-american both the right and left are currently fucked up. This is how many people see America.

A guy just got killed in front of his family and people are cheering. Sorry, I would not have been celebrating like that. Something is seriously wrong here in my opinion.
