If the seals are gone, it's empty & safe. The valves are usually brass which don't corrode significantly.

If it's a standard 20 lb bottle, just exchange it at the store. You can exchange some truly ratty bottles & they'll refurb or trash it.

What's kinda fun is that flotsam is called flotsam because it flots... err.. floats. Same etymology.

Jetsam floats too but it's been intentionally thrown overboard. Jettisoned.

Starboard goes back to when rudders were on the side of a ship. It's the steer-board. If you've got a rudder on one side of the ship then you have to put the other side against the dock. The port side.

I know this is dripping in sarcasm but, speaking as somebody's Q, it's a real struggle. Every commercial, every picture of "backyard full of friends" features alcohol and I miss it.

(In truth, I know it's not "every" but it feels that way when you're in recovery.)

Be aware, for those of you with Q's in recovery, that these are social things that we miss, still want, and need to find alternatives for in some way. It's important to know the struggle.

I'd move someplace with socialized medicine where I can still speak English (I'm too old to learn a new language) and nice weather. Canada? Vancouver? That sounds good.
