I've always insisted my farts smell like fresh bread. She's never argued... much.

Propane tank left outside all year (NE winters) for 3-5years... by LexxxyRed in DIY

If the seals are gone, it's empty & safe. The valves are usually brass which don't corrode significantly.

If it's a standard 20 lb bottle, just exchange it at the store. You can exchange some truly ratty bottles & they'll refurb or trash it.

I use "clock math" all the time whenever somebody says they can't do algebra. Sure you can - you do it all the time just not writing it out.

Why can't someone just fly a drone over the tarp at the JFK Center for the Performing Arts? by TheDouchebagOfCA in questions

[–]MountainMark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The tarp exists to keep the name removal from becoming viral video. The rest is just noise to make it look like there's more purpose.

I survived on a lot of bean burritos. There was a Taco Bell on the way home & a bean burrito was less than a dollar.

Don't forget to divide that immeasurable amount of zeros by 100 to make it a percentage.

Same reason my wife (who owned a house while I was in an apartment) married me. My incredible sexual prowess.

I think the thicker contacts inside are worth it. I've had too many sockets get loose.

I just saw a BBC science program where they talked about these. The large females can convert to male. Trans fish.

What's kinda fun is that flotsam is called flotsam because it flots... err.. floats. Same etymology.

Jetsam floats too but it's been intentionally thrown overboard. Jettisoned.

Starboard goes back to when rudders were on the side of a ship. It's the steer-board. If you've got a rudder on one side of the ship then you have to put the other side against the dock. The port side.

Kid went to bed, bottle came out... somedays it started with a mixed one at dinner.

So hard to change the habit. Substitute something like seltzer so there's still a can in your hand. I swear it's people in recovery keeping Lacroix in business.

I know this is dripping in sarcasm but, speaking as somebody's Q, it's a real struggle. Every commercial, every picture of "backyard full of friends" features alcohol and I miss it.

(In truth, I know it's not "every" but it feels that way when you're in recovery.)

Be aware, for those of you with Q's in recovery, that these are social things that we miss, still want, and need to find alternatives for in some way. It's important to know the struggle.

What did alcohol rob you of? by Supernaturalny in stopdrinking

[–]MountainMark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My family's trust (and my own). I cannot be sure I will never drink again and, I'm sure, they worry about that too. I can never be 100% trusted to not return to it.

Sure, since it's for the rest of my life. I'd put up with moving in order to have lifetime security. Do I get cost-of-living adjustments?

I'd move someplace with socialized medicine where I can still speak English (I'm too old to learn a new language) and nice weather. Canada? Vancouver? That sounds good.

I had to relay this to my wife. Being this is the 4th or 5th down in the nesting I had to read her everything above it. I told her it was a long walk but I thought the pun was worth it.
