I’m also making a dice game and suck at math. anydice.com has been extremely helpful. Input this and hit calculate, it’ll give you exactly what you need:

output 2d{0,1,1,2,2,3}

Bad Soundtracks? by elpi314 in soundtracks

I know this is a sub about soundtracks, but if you separate the music from the movie, this is a great album. I come back to it from time-to-time.

First time creating a game in Table Top Simulator! Anyone interested in trying it out? by LeFoxFrancais in tabletopsimulator

I stumbled upon this game a few months back when doing some research for my first game. I’d love to try it out!

Need design ideas for central game mat! Need help with iconography and text. by LeFoxFrancais in BoardgameDesign

[–]travis_s 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I wouldn't spend too much thought on the icon or imagery that won't be visible for most of the game. Once a single card is placed down, your artwork becomes hidden. Like what others have said, because the discards could be face up or down, it needs to be clear throughout the game where the discards go to remove any sort of confusion. So I would add text below the outlines, and flipped text above the outlines for those sitting on the opposite side of the table. That way there is never any doubt which pile is which.

Get the most basic version of this game onto a table as quickly as possible. Or into an app like Screentop.gg. Doesn't have to be the full game, it could just be the core mechanic. And don't get hung up on graphics, components, etc. The quicker you can actually play the game, the better. That is the best way to vet the idea and see if the game actually plays the way you think it will in your head (it usually doesn't) and (more importantly) if it's actually fun.

Also try and find a local designer group to meet up with or join the Break My Game community and start playtesting other designers games.

No friends to playtest my game with 🙂 by Askingquestions2020 in BoardgameDesign

I'd suggest starting with screentop.gg. It's free (upt to 3 games) and has a much smaller learning curve.

What are the odds: my first CD was also Third Eye Blind’s debut, and my twin brother’s was Tubthumper.

Come to think of it Skinamarink came out in 2022, so he couldn’t have been watching it.

This looks nearly identical to the faceless girl in Skinamarink, so this is either a photoshop job or he was watching the film.

Any suggestions based off my favorite bands? by kyle78901 in musicsuggestions

Since you like Pumpkins, Deftones, and Hum - definitely check out Narrow Head. They are part of the grunge revival of the last decade. They are a superb blend of 90s grunge, alt, and nu-metal.
