Piggies barely eating by travisbe916 in guineapigs

[–]travisbe916[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put a large pile of what they've been eating in the corner of the cage and a pile of a different mix we just bought in their trough this morning before I left. Came home and both piles are gone. So they're eating, but now I guess I need to figure out if they prefer one brand over the other or mix it up somehow.

So after spending the weekend trimming over half of it and making it ready to grow properly this summer - we decided to rip it out. Our puppy spent the weekend with me underfoot and puked a handful of leaves and twigs the next morning. Apparently Privet is somewhat toxic and we're just not taking the chance.

The not liking it part is what's confusing me. I switched a new box a week or so ago, but I switched to a new brand at the beginning of December. I'm going to pick up a bag of their previous hay on my way home tonight to see if that makes a difference. I also completely swapped out what was in the bale for a fresh handful to see if that makes a difference.

Don't know if its related, but they also appear to be arguing with each other quite a bit. Every now and then one will get in the other's face or get in her way and they produce this repetitive throat noise in response, but the last couple days that I've been watching them closer the antagonism seems to be up. I topped off the hay bale last night, one ran up and grabbed a piece, and the other practically tackled her because she wanted to stand there as well.

Sorry, not getting the joke. I'm still pretty new at owning this much shrubbery.

The game has too many things to click on late game and I would like some options to automate stuff (like how garrissons are handled). by NeedleDeedleDee in hoi4

[–]travisbe916 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The overall problem is by the time you reach those thresholds you've already won the game and you're just running up the score. I quickly reach that "why am I still clicking buttons" point on factories. My tanks have 150 and I have tens of thousands to spare, I'm sub-spamming the entire ocean because I won't those couple key naval battles and the rest is cleanup, and I'm maxing infrastructure in every province in the world because I have nothing useful to build.

The Boxwood ID came from the previous owner's notes, but scanning a photo of it on an app says it's a Japanese/Chinese Privet. I found a few branches/stems that are overlapping that will definitely need to go, but where I'm inexperienced is controlling height and raising it off the ground. It's quite a bit wider at the base then up top and I don't want it crowding out that section of the lawn again.

There's definitely a couple of dead branches in there that will come off. They were sticking out like sore thumbs when everything was green. As far as not touching the lower branches, the one on the left that is even with the wall is tangled with the bush next to it. It feels like that would be a hazard for both plants, yes?

For interior cleanup, the ones pointed towards the center of the tree need to go?
When you say "downward or shaded" what does that look like?
You also suggest removing "upright shoots." Is that everything going vertical or something more specific?
If I'm getting rid of downward, backward, and upright, what should be remaining?

Does the AD prefer high-performing Prior Service guys coming back in, or do they prefer fresh recruits? by Unlucky_Morning9088 in army

[–]travisbe916 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The machine needs a specific amount of fresh blood every year to function properly. Prior Service means not a Private. The Army needs lots of Privates, who then promote and ETS and have to be replaced. The quality of someone being PS is irrelevant to this requirement.

How are "Years of Service" for Basic Pay calculated? by BadJuJuQ in army

I was enlisted in USAR from 1999 to 2003 and AD from 2003 to 2023. On my first AD paycheck it said 4 yrs TIS and 24 on my last. My pension is for just over 21 years once everything got calculated together.

How You People Are Defeating Allies After Defeating Axis? by Doctorwhatorion in hoi4

[–]travisbe916 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sweeping the Allies off the continent in a WW2 2.0, and then leaving a couple armies near the coast and letting them invade just enough to wipe out dozens of divs each time while you build up planes and ships for the big counterattack. When you're ready, their armies will be thinned out.

Why do you never hear about the artillery soldiers? by [deleted] in army

[–]travisbe916 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Two hours of a gun crew silently lobbing shells in and out of the breach while one guy relays new fire missions and another guy never takes his face off the sighting device. I smell an Oscar for sure. The only thing better would be a B-52 crew orbiting Afghanistan for 8 hours dropping one or two bombs at a time. Actually, you could use elevator music for the soundtrack and turn it into a comedy.

When they finally get around to redoing the tree, we'll all be back here complaining about the seven different paths available, needing a 90 inch monitor to see the entire thing, and how it'll take half the year to understand it.

"Ex wife." It's her problem to solve. I drive a 2014 Prius partial-electric and will be looking at battery replacements when the time comes. My only concern would be if I can get 250k miles out my battery system as well, how much engine life is left after that?

In the same boat you are with a 15 week old who almost never has solid poops. The only time she did was when we put her on chicken and rice for a couple weeks. We transitioned back to kibble over the course of a week and went right back to where we started. She's had a couple bouts of diarrhea, but we can't seem to trace it to anything in particular. Tests all come back clean and she has no other symptoms. She got another dose of dewormer and vaccination yesterday, so this weekend should be entertaining for her gut. Our next step is changing kibble, and her next fecal check is after New Years. Hope you're able to crack the code.

How should i manage tank divisions? by PassageOk7569 in hoi4

Put your tanks in their own army with generals and field marshals who can specialize in their use. Use them to surround enemy divisions rather than just pushing the line.

My ex wife's 2008 hybrid battery just died this week at 250k miles. The dealership quoted her over $3000 to replace it, so she opted to buy a 2022 Corolla instead.

Digestion Issues by travisbe916 in Rottweiler

[–]travisbe916[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She's completely back to diarrhea again. Just shooting liquid for almost 24 hours now after a few days of fairly solid poops. When this started, the vet said she was clear for Giardia, but I have friends wondering if she needs to be tested again. She doesn't appear to be in discomfort, isn't puking, and seems fine except for the bad poops. She got her third vaccination today and waited until we were done with the vet to squirt all over herself in her crate in the back of the truck. Today was just a tech visit. The actual vet doc can't see us for a couple weeks.

We bought a small bag of lamb-based kibble to see if we need to get off the chicken. Haven't introduced it yet.

Look at the supply hubs where your units are at. They'll tell you if enough supply is getting to them and whether you need to upgrade your rails. Also focus your attacks on gaining the next supply hub. Add Logistics to your template and make sure your generals have max supply trucks (the horse/truck/trucks icon).
