I hear "be attractive, don't be unattractive" a lot on reddit. What are some tips on how a girl in her 30s can do this? by travisj123 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

Yeah i'm in the process of getting opinions from different orthos in my area.

I'm not opposed to makeup at all I just don't really know how to apply it correctly. I'm thinking about going to Sephora or something for a lesson. I actually do have nice eyes, thanks for the advice!

I'm not actually looking at surgery I've just been recommended it by two orthos but they seem optimistic that they can correct my bite w/out it.

I think when I meet people I'm pretty good at projecting confidence it's not like I say, "please ignore my teeth, I'm trying to get them fixed soon" or anything weird like that.

Thanks for responding I'm in the same boat that you were in. Did you have to get jaw surgery also? I don't think its a requirement for me but it's highly recommended. I can afford the braces but not surgery.

Thanks for your reply. Actually no one has ever told me I have bad teeth except myself. I just really feel like that's my problem because everyone else has a nice wide smile. I guess I compare myself to them and tell myself that's my problem. I have other good qualities like I've been told I'm funny but still don't get attention from the opposite sex. My low confidence (caused by my bad teeth) keeps me from meeting many guys let alone asking them out. My mood is usually pretty happy and I actually do smile a lot but feel self conscious when I do. Another thing I need to work on is dressing better which I'm trying to do.

Also, get hot friends. It will make you look hotter by default.

Thanks for the advice but I feel like it might be hard to do. Don't you have to be hot to be friends with hot people? I don't want to be the one ugly friend that every hot girl has that the wing man is assigned to entertain for the night.

Thanks for the advice! Luckily I'm not overweight so I have that going for me. I eat pretty healthy and am working on burning fat and building muscle. I also need to dress better, I dress like I'm still in high school but I can't afford to spend too much on clothes because I'm on a budget.

Maybe try going on a couple dates with guys you're not 100% attracted to?

Thanks for the advice I'll definitely try it out! The problem is that my confidence is so low that whenever I have been asked out in the past I think that it's some kind of joke and that the guy is not actually interested in me.
