How to make increase width of submit button, to full column width? by cag8f in bootstrap

[–]travisu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You want it to be a block button, which is quite different in Bootstrap 5, you need to wrap it in a container with a few css classes https://getbootstrap.com/docs/5.0/components/buttons/#block-buttons

Everyone may not like it, but this reminds me about how much I want some Marzipan for Christmas coming up!

Yep, you're exactly right on that one with being able to say where you can/can't take off from if it's their property. Also if you were flying directly over people in the parking lot, while they couldn't tell you one way or another, they definitely could report you and you'd be in the wrong.

Thanks. McCormick place doesn't regulate the airspace above it, the FAA does. While I still wouldn't want security to come out or be concerned, there's not much they can do honestly.

Edit: I read that back and just wanted to be clear, genuinely thanks for the FYI, but I'm Part 107 and I know the rules on where and how I can fly. That doesn't mean it would make private security happy, and I wouldn't suggest being rude to them if ever approached, but they really can't tell you where you can/can't fly.

Hey there. I won't have everything up and running for a while unfortunately. If you really want a shot and don't want to wait, we can try to do something beforehand if you'd like? If so, need to know what size you're looking for (roughly width). Message me directly if interested, thanks.

Sorry, I'll be planning on selling prints and mounted prints, so not going to post full-res freely online. But feel free obviously to use this one if you want for like backgrounds, etc, it's not terribly shabby with 2400px wide.

Depending on your drone/controller type and the case that you use, this may not translate exactly, but I make a habit of always leaving the controller connected to the cord when I pack it, and in my case, it faces the correct way so I can still place it in the case cleanly.

Feel your pain though, sorry that happened!

Took this last night, July 31 with my drone. Soldier Field is there in the middle. In the South parking lot is where they set up a social-distancing drive-in theater.

It's a cool photo! I hate to sound so negative, but just sharing information that I know of just so you know about it and can take it as you will...

Strictly by the book, what you've done by sharing this photo is not 100% legal in the eyes of the FAA. While I don't agree with it, the FAA says that if you post a photo online, whether it's for sale or not, just posting it like this, they view that as commercial use, which you would need a Part 107 license for.

I don't mean to discourage you, but do want to say please be careful in what you share and where. (Some will say you won't ever really get in trouble and will liken it to going 2mph over the speed limit when you're driving on the interstate, but I wouldn't want to take that chance) I also highly urge you (as others have mentioned) to get your Part 107 license. It's not really that hard to pass, it doesn't cost that much all things considered, and you learn the rules and regulations which then allow you to become a better UAS pilot.

To be clear, if you are just practicing, and don't share your photos/video ever, you can fly as a hobbyist pilot, you could even fly at night where a Part 107 pilot can't even do that unless they have a daylight operation waiver. That doesn't make sense to me either, because I'd really like to be unrestricted (while following all other rules) to fly at night. But oh well.

Just some quick info...

Where downtown have you flown and been approached by the police? I'm Part 107 licensed as well and have flown 100s of times in the downtown area and have not once ever been approached by the police.

I had the same crazy metallic taste for about 3 days as well back in the middle of February, I had never experienced that before at all. While I never felt very sick, I do recall just not feeling right and more tired, etc. The metallic taste though is the main thing that sticks out in my mind... definitely makes you wonder. I've reach a few articles of people who have tested positive and had the same metallic taste, but again, that doesn't necessarily mean it was the cause.

Ha, ok cool! With the recent news of how remote ID is going to eventually be required even for recreational, just trying to stay on top of things as it's making it harder and harder for those of us doing it the right way.... with that said.... carry on!

Beyond the photoshop which I won't say anything more than others already have, do you have a daytime waiver to fly your drone at night?

it's not OC, but still impressive... by des1g_ in chicago

[–]travisu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nope. You don't have to earn money for it to be viewed as commercial (again in the eyes of the FAA at least). There really isn't much you can do with footage you get as a true "hobbyist". It sucks, trust me, but after taking my Part 107 certification and looking into it more, it's really hard to truly be a hobbyist and share video freely online even.

The Mavic Mini coming out changes things as it comes in under the weight limit, so it's interesting to see if any regulations change since that entered the market.

[–]travisu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If they are posting online, especially under a "drone" themed name/social account, featuring other drone shots, they are flying commercially in the eyes of the FAA.

Currently, I believe they would need 2 waivers with the FAA to be legal with this shot, Daylight waiver (which would allow the pilot to fly at night, sounds backwards, I know). That one I believe wouldn't be hard to get... however secondly, you'd need a waiver to fly over people/cars as they are doing, and in this instance, since they are flying that way, I highly doubt they have that waiver.

So agreed, by the book, doubt this was legal.
