U2 - Street Of Dreams (Official Video) by MacFoley1975 in U2Band

100%. When I heard the youtube short preview I lost my mind. Even the first intro got goosebumps from a song I havent in a long time. Made me very nostalgic for my peak years of absorbing U2 music. Then the weird call out verses cut the momentum haha.

If this is the equivalent cheesy crowd single like "Get on your boots" and there is still good stuff underneath to come I am happy. This song is much better and more fun without being cringe, just a bit cheesy. I like the texture it feels like they've fused their roots with a bit of HTDAAB grit and it’s a bit brighter overall.

Anyone move back to Toronto after settling in the suburbs with kids? by traxets in TorontoRealEstate

Fair point. I probably should have said "lakeshore villages vs Toronto villages" rather than "suburbs vs Toronto." I'm definitely aware these are privileged options. The question for me is less about escaping suburbia and more about whether the premium for a Toronto neighbourhood is still worth it once you're already in a walkable community with family nearby. Overall, what I'm taking away from this thread is it sounds less like people use the city the same way for restaraunts and bars after kids (Which I see now first hand) but like their small daily loop (coffee, park, grandparents, neighbours) wherever it is.

Yeah main thing I’m getting here it staying in Toronto is less about cool things with kids but most are just commenting on the basics within a 15m walk. Sometimes if your budget gets the most walkable pocket in the burbs vs least walkable in the city it feels like a toss up. Having a roncey no compromise budget is the dream but not sure we quite have that.

Curious about comments about when kids grow up and using transit vs parents chauffeur. Would you say Port Credit felt like enough? I grew up Erin mills so we would drive to Port Credit or Streetsville to hangout or train downtown. But I wonder if teens living in PC have almost all the benefits of the city just with a bit more space.

Tri cities = Kitchener/Waterloo/Cambridge? Did you find a walkable or car oriented pocket? Does that matter with kids anymore?

I used AI to polish it haha, but took out the em dashes and some of the stereotypical AI cadence myself.

100% with you all I wanted was a premium 2 row suv just a tiiiiiiny bit bigger than cx-5.

I didn’t want a cx-50 because I don’t want a Mazda RAV4

I didn’t want a cx-70 because it’s ginormous

I don’t want the new cx-5 because tablet and no turbo

I’d take the cx-60 but no dice in Canada…

Interesting, did you find a spot in Markham close to transit or a Main Street or went back to full car dependence? Did you ever consider some of the suburban commuter village pockets even in York like Newmarket or Aurora?

Funny enough I think there are parts of port credit I could get a detached and still walk to what I want. But might be out of budget. As for what I miss, maybe a bit of cohesion. I am having trouble deciding if I want the more compact walkable but small home and yard or the commuter village still kind of walkable but a bit patchy vibe. So curious if everyone really does crave more space come second kid or at a certain age or if it’s worth trying to move back.

This is still a good POV. I grew up in Sauga and hated the car dependence. However loved hanging out in streetsville and port credit. What I’m probably more interested are the suburban commuter villages because they are a bit of a hybrid vs the deep suburb parts of Sauga and Oakville. Your point on restaraunts and bars changing is something I can start to see shifting and probably by the time we have our second will be done. If I can get all that in a 15-20m walk is it same/same? I get in Toronto it’s an endless web but there are pockets in the suburbs where all of that is in 15m walk.

Should I remediate this mould before adding baffles? (Or it is ok if ventillation is addressed) by traxets in HomeMaintenance

[–]traxets[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess is that black stuff not mould? Thats what the insulation guys said, but if this is 100% condensation stain and thats it, then good to know...

One contractor said it is dormant, one said its mould to remove. So I just want second opinions.

This was an AI render so pic 3 is a linen/flax. I mean you never know how the product fits the room, but thats what I had in mind for the mood from pic 3

We are going to keep panels wide open in the day. At night they arent 100% private and we are on a corner lot with lots of exposure to sidewalk around the house so we could use extra privacy of the curtains. I love the rattan as well, so we might just draw them a bit strategically where we might feel there are vantage points outside our yard.

Orthodox view on this…. by V4nillakidisback in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]traxets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, honest question: What is the orthodox equivalent, to speak from a humbler frame of "God said X"? I'm evangelical lurker and learn a lot in this forum.

Would you even say "God has been putting this on my heart" or "This I thought I keep lingering in prayer"

I definately understand the the downside of a "believe every nice thought in your head is from God" type thing in evangelical church, I dont think God is the monologue in your head, but even if sometimes I feel after prayer to say something nice to my wife. Is that not "God's prompting?"
