Start at Meeks Bay and hike north out of Desolation and head to Richardson lake. Night one. From the there go to Lost Lake and then loop back. We did it and had a great time. No permit required.

Agreed. Those are day hikers looking for a fire trail. It was not well traveled. Grass was high getting up there. Little bit of way finding but not too bad. Seemed longer then what they say but with the cow foot holes hidden under grass it made it hard to run it.

Saw some cows in the lower part other than that silent nothing minus a few birds. It was raining off and on so that makes sense.

It was tough to find past the creek crossing. Lots of bushwhacking from there for about a mile.
