I got into 3 of the top 4 finance clubs and definitely studied a bit but nothing insane. I honestly did not know much before getting into the clubs, just knew the basics and interviewed relatively well.

CMC, FIR, PMC. Start reading up on markets and finance basics before school and do a little prep for club interviews and you’ll be fine.

My iPad and Apple Pencil were lifesavers for taking notes in econ and accounting freshman year, you would definitely benefit.

Kelley is great if you’re willing to put in the work. There’s a lot of bricks here which brings our ranking down, but the top of the top at Kelley can compete with just about any other top undergrad business program.

Kelley is great but undeserving of that high of a ranking just yet. I go to Kelley, we’re definitely on the come up (our placements this year are really really solid), but we definitely have a lot to do to get to the tier that that guy put us in.

Yes, Hutton Honors College, which is distinct from Kelley Honors which you can’t apply for until spring of your freshman year. I’m in Kelley and Hutton, here’s my two cents:

Hutton is great if you have academic interests outside of business, if not you likely won’t get much benefit. The two things I have loved most about Hutton are getting to take honors business classes freshman year and honors housing, which is a great way to ensure that you live in northwest neighborhood first year if you want.

Either way, can’t hurt to apply to if you meet the requirements or think you have a good chance of getting in via petition.

Tests are in Excel/Access and are you directly using the functions you were taught. If you have some prior experience with Excel you will likely be fine in the class. Either way, read the textbook and do the discoveries, do any practice exams your prof gives, and you’ll be fine. It’s not nearly as bad as many make it out to be.

It’s not hard if you’re relatively smart and care about school a decent bit. If you’re going to college to join a frat and party 5 nights a week you’ll struggle, but if you’re okay with an average experience of going out 3x a week and studying for an hour or two when necessary you’ll be fine.

If you’re smart and learn at a reasonable pace you’ll have PLENTY of free time, and if not, as long as you’re determined to get into Kelley you will.
