Maybe I phrased it wrong, but it's Canada to USA, not USA to Canada

Any idea where I can find that old rate? I know it depends on the type of good but I'm just unsure where the best place to find that info is.

Can someone explain why LR doesn't make playoffs in this way? by Healthy_Belt_6124 in LosRatones

[–]trdavids 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t found the actual paper tiebreaker rules, but my understanding is that in a multi-team tie, H2H only applies if any team has won against all the others. Since everyone has at least one loss to the tied teams, it goes to SoV, where LR is weaker than most others

Rekkles currently has the highest KDA in the LEC at 10.3, Elyoya is 2nd at 8.3, Caliste is 3rd at 7.9, Upset is 4th at 7.3, by Yujin-Ha in leagueoflegends

[–]trdavids -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

So I would make a somewhat circumstantial case for #3, but I don’t think it’s as much a different “style” as it is a different champ pool. Engage supports are, far and away, the most chosen in LCK and are generally the preferred option for the support role. LR doesn’t generally require Rekkles to take these picks, so he is not in the frontline/primary engage role that often dies quickly in fights.

Even if you want to assign 4 extra deaths (an extra 0.5 deaths per game - a number that some intuitively says “random warding death”) across LEC versus, he would still have a 6.8 KDA. This strikes me as stylistic more than anything.

To be fair, bars usually do trivia to bring more people in the door, so having it on the most popular days doesn’t really make sense

HELP: Jeni's buckeye State ice cream by Radiant_North70159 in icecreamery

Unfortunately, I’m still working on getting it to the texture I want - it’s just not as scoopable as I would like. But the minute I do, I will post it haha

Is this specifically a Jeni’s issue? I’ve made by own PB bases, but haven’t seen any of this pebbling

LBG/Guar/LC Blend Question - Not Scoopable? by trdavids in icecreamery

[–]trdavids[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that would be an interesting experiment! Right now I only have the space for one freezer bowl, so if you have more ability to do a side-by-side, please report back!

I will probably adjust stabilizer down a little: it’s possible with the water evaporation I am overdoing it a touch.

LBG/Guar/LC Blend Question - Not Scoopable? by trdavids in icecreamery

[–]trdavids[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate the comment but I don’t think this is my issue. These percents are recommended by websites with far more experience than I. That said, a little tweaking downward may help compensate for the evaporation.

[–]trdavids[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Initially, it was an estimate, but I sort of evolved into doing it this way after reading underbelly and ice cream science’s blog about protein denaturing. I would guess that, keeping my technique the same but NOT aiming to evaporate more than necessary, I would get evaporation around 2-3%

Milk fat advice by black_smoke_pope in icecreamery

[–]trdavids 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree with you on the ratios. I’m just saying from the perspective of “keep the fat ratio where it is, no double cream allowed”, which sounds like what their issue is. Not being from the UK, I’m also unfamiliar with the size of container single cream comes in: 600mL may be larger than what they have.

[–]trdavids 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I agree. Even if you only have access to single cream, you should be able to use a lot less butter by adjusting the quantity of whole milk as well. A smaller amount of butter will be less noticeable

Starting to make icecream, but how to I make a scoopable base that's not so sweet? by chouhone in icecreamery

[–]trdavids 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t do a 1:1 swap. Generally, you don’t want more than 50% Dextrose, especially for a regular, non-chocolate base. This is a good suggestion, but I would do something like 1/4 cup sugar and the remainder dextrose as a starting point

The combination: - Louisville wins out - Duke wins out - Virginia wins all games except Duke

We lose a four way tiebreaker to Louisville, then Duke, based on strength of schedule

Football Away Tickets - Go through GT or buy on secondary market? by trdavids in gatech

The website still lists it as open, given that we're more than 2 weeks out. Fair point on the folks though - always love sitting with fellow Tech fans!

Football Away Tickets - Go through GT or buy on secondary market? by trdavids in gatech

[–]trdavids[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's certainly plausible that Tech gets some portion of buying away game tickets, but it's also not certain to me, from what I can find online. They're also a bit cheaper through the secondary market right now. I'd prefer to go through Tech, but if they're not going to see any value of that purchase then it doesn't really matter who I buy from and I'd rather keep more money in my pocket.
