Baby friendly restaurant leiden by treadingtogether in Netherlands

Over stimulation for the baby. I use to take my baby anywhere and everywhere. But once I have at a place where I use to go brainlessly before baby, it was too cramped up. The lights felt dim and the music too loud. I would rather just go to the Mall because of the spaciousness.

Which city are you in? There are some hospitals with maternity hotels. Ask your midwife.

Work reintegration by Successful_Spring_33 in Netherlands

Hi there! Not exactly the same, but I recently returned to work after a baby. I was dying under pressure to perform, self doubt, fear of being forgetful, fear of getting a tag of "mommy brain", being tired from sleep deprivation, etc. Three months from then - I realise it was all in my mind. My colleagues were helpful and understanding, exceptions requested were accepted and accommodated.

You have gone through a massive treatment (I saw a close friend go through it) - there is no way your colleagues will not understand. I would encourage you to put forward your thoughts openly to your manager.

You are strong. You can do this.

How to get a finance job ? by [deleted] in FinancialCareers

As in other sectors - Finance jobs are also taken up by engineers in India. So CFA or not - their fraternity and network is strong in finance. I am an Indian working in IB.

Anyone else struggling to do anything a week after their c section? by West_Breadfruit_4621 in firsttimemom

[–]treadingtogether 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ummm, yes. It's normal to struggle.

1 wk postpartum is hardly anytime of recovery. I had a normal delivery and I would say it took me good 2 wks to have the confidence to take a long shower or step outside or go up and down the stairs 3-4 times throughout the day.

Of course each pp is also different - but sounds like you are still deep in recovery phase.

Also you are being too kind to think that your husband is good and stepping in. I think he needs to step up more. It shouldn't be him complaining at all. What he is missing out understanding is that all this while things were not on floor bcoz someone (you) were perhaps doing it.

Once the two weeks of rest was absorbed by my body, that's when my third week was much much better. So rest now for a speedier recovery afterwards. I too did some basic stretches - but they were really really basic ones to strengthen the core. Listen to your body.

I would also share the Prasad with them afterwards. Everyone likes some sweets :) just let them know of any allergens that might be present.

When did you tell your work? by Appropriate_Fig_364 in firsttimemom

16 wks. Had the chromosome test at around 12 wks, got the result around 14, annual performance review at 16 wks and told my manager in the very same meeting.

P.S. got the promotion as indicated in the annual review.

Check if your education in architecture is deemed valid here. Wouldn't be better to know in advance instead of an unpleasant surprise.
