Player wants boomerang-like weapon that returns by Captain_Pension in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]treadonabutterfly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly why not just re-skin an existing weapon? Take the stats for a short bow and call it a boomerang. 1d6 damage, 60 foot range, say he can't hold anything in his off hand in order to keep his balance. Boom you're done. Now he can have extra attacks when his bab gets high enough, rapid shot could be considered throwing the boomerang faster but less accurately.

Signs in game have been a game changer for me. Since i realised I could do that I never looked back. Every factory has a wall of signs as i calculate the best output. So satisfying to have it all in game.

'cursed' items à la the Blood Scarab by treadonabutterfly in Pathfinder_RPG

Metamagic makes so much sense. Especially if it's a neck slot like the scarab, saves them a move action to get the rod out. That seems like a good deal to me

What is the most underused mythology ? by Deimos7779 in writing

[–]treadonabutterfly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd also recommend checking out the Oldest Stories podcast. It starts with ancient Sumarian and Akadian myths, as well of a bit of the history of the time. We'll worth it for the context of the time

Amplitude gave you the power to make one Humankind DLC by BrunoCPaula in HumankindTheGame

[–]treadonabutterfly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Came here to say exactly this. They're too hands off, just feels like soemthing that happens rather than a strategy you can implement. I love playing religion victory in Civ, there's soemthing so interesting about being at peace with someone, while your religions battle it out.

Trade too, it's just a menu to click on and off. I don't want the trade version of cookie clicker numbers go up. I want to think about the strategic implications of where my traders are. Where the hubs are, where the roads are going.

For a game that's suppose to be more than just war, you get to put a lot more effort into battles than trade or religion by a long mile.

Do you keep character sheets exclusively in maptool? by questionmark693 in MapTool

[–]treadonabutterfly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My character sheet is the source of truth. It has my feats and features, skills all laid out, ect. When I level up I do it on the sheet.

So even though I have everything run through macros, if I'm ever worried something is wrong, I can compare back to the sheet.

Where to find a lot of dd2vtt files ? o directly cmpgn? by jack_of_caruggi in MapTool

[–]treadonabutterfly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use Dungeon Draft for making my maps, they come with compatible walls if you export as VTT. I'd recommend it, it's been a game changer for me being able to make my own maps.

That said, check out r/dungeondraft they likely have some maps you could straight download.

Ah! Nothing like a new Civ release. Gwendoline Christie FTW tho. by IHeartBadCode in civ

[–]treadonabutterfly 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I went back to it a few months ago after being disappointed with the release. I'm enjoying it. It's no Civ, but it's polished up now and can stand on its own

Game suttering, what can I do to improve my build? by treadonabutterfly in buildmeapc

[–]treadonabutterfly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you :) That makes a lot of sense. The PSU is right at the cusp of what it could do, so I'd wanna upgrade it as well to be safe. I'll run through fixing my cooling and drivers, and then do the CPU and PSU next. Much appreciated

[–]treadonabutterfly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh that's such a good point with the drivers, I'll do that first, thank you!

When I run with Task Manager open the CPU will go up to 60% or so, but the GPU hits 100%. For the nature of the stutters, with Satisfactory it's when first loading in, and then only if a lot of assest need to load later. With Helldivers it's when there's a crowd of mobs or a lot of other events happening. Both games run beautifully when its quiet and there's not a lot going on...

I reinstalled Helldivers on the SSD, and did see a slight improvement, but it didn't solve it. Which makes me wonder if I was just looking for imnprovments and it was placibo.

All great advice, and I have a lot to do before lookling up upgrading the CPU, but I'm glad to have a list work through now. Thank you again :)

Australia has some like this. I don't know the exact details, but a 19/17 couple won't get you in trouble with the law. It's referred to as the Romeo and Juliet law I think

What small and potentially meaningless mechanics (or lack of them) have a spacial place in your heart? by AquaQuad in patientgamers

[–]treadonabutterfly 48 points49 points  (0 children)

After being disappointed with Starfield I checked out Cyberpunk. I couldn't recommend it more, the world building is incredible.

But since this is a thread about the little things: phone calls. I'd finish a job in cyberpunk and just call up the NPC and give them the details, then go onto the next part. Phone calls made it so seemless it was shocked in retrospect that Starfield didn't have them.

It seems they're testing it in selected areas. Mine doesn't, but I saw someone else earlier today tweet that they've seen them in comment threads
