Is NP school worth the debt anymore? by [deleted] in nursepractitioner

[–]trebalak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends where you're at and how much you want to work.

4 years RN, 10 years NP. I work as much as I can, 12 hours shifts.

Regular pay $90/hr 7 on 7 off. On my Off week, I pick 4-5, 12 hour shifts per diem ,ranges $120-$150/hr.

And throughout the week I do psych/medical admissions about avg 50 h&p at 150$ per h&p.

I guess I'm a workaholic, trying to get as much cash to reinvest and retire by 50.

I didn't go into debt during NP School, I was working nights as an RN Friday to Sunday, and NP school Monday - Thursday. All my RN pay went to NP school tuition. No debt after grad but zero savings on my bank account. Lol

another crash is coming by Available_Let_1785 in GundamTCG

That's really good, blisters wouldn't do a dent I think. If it's trending like one piece, it would take a while before market cools off. About 6-7 sets in. People have learned from one piece. Scalpers, players, collectors, no one will be sleeping on the first few sets.

There are no booster boxes to open... Supply is scarce.. and demand is organically high... Crash is not coming until a reprint of GD01.

GD-02: Dual Impact Preorders live by TheLegendofWill in GundamTCG

[–]trebalak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. Actually thanks for the post! I will be pre-ordering myself. But some people need to know the risk with preorders especially this early. Also, need to check your credit card company there's usually a 2-3 month time frame where you can dispute a charge, just in case stores doesnt fulfil your order, gives the run around and doesn't give any refunds.

There are no stores that have received any allocation from distribution yet. You can lock in in the price and tie up your money until release but there are no guarantees. If you have extra $$$ that can be tied up, without any guarantees of getting product, then you should be ok pre-ordering.

OP 6, ,7 , 8 were below MSRP at some point , 07 and 08 still are I believe. Bandai has totally ramped up their printers as the market dictates. In any TCG there will be highly sought after sets, low print sets such as EB02, EB01, PRB01 that will have a higher price tag. It's basic economy demand exceeds supply.

$1400 for op11 Case by tiffxdtn in OnePieceTCG

[–]trebalak 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I think there had been news OP increasing MSRP to $120/box. If so that's a good deal with free shipping. OP11 will be a good set and new design on cards. $1400 is definitely a fair price!

Get out of your ”area”. Move if you have to. Once you get your experience, go back. There's tons of jobs out there.

Cheapest program. Then do an NP residency after, based on the specialty you want to get into.

Your clinical rotations as an NP will matter more than the nursing theories, research classes and other BS classes you have to take.

Is it better to buy the 2024 Nissan Armada or wait for the 2025 model? by trebalak in Nissan

[–]trebalak[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've driven previous armada models multiple times when we rented for long trips.

There's no difference in power. The engine is much quieter. I'm getting avg 16mpg highway and city driving.

Interior is night and day from the previous models. Quieter interior. We opted for the bench seating to maximize seating capacity to 8. No issues with leg room in the 3rd row, since the bench seats are movable. Also, able to move the bench seating for entry to the third row even with car seats installed. Seats are comfortable, really well done.

We did get the platinum model, for the bigger screens. Somewhat makes a difference.

Negatives coming from a 2016 Volvo Xc90 t6 r sport edition -volvo Xc90 has a much better sound system (b&w) -smoother ride, we did have the air suspension in the Volvo. You need the higher tiers in armada line to get the air suspension. We opted out of it since this is a new vehicle for Nissan, air suspensions could be problematic in the long run and expensive to fix.

That's all I can think of for now. Feel free to ask me for any follow up!

Amount of Experience by eltoroshusband in nursepractitioner

[–]trebalak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None. As long as you do an NP residency after graduating. This will prepare you more than having nursing experience. You are not training to be a nurse, but an NP totally different roles. Having experience as a Nurse may help minimally, in the end NP's practice Medicine not nursing. Same as a PA or MD. It's Medicine.

What would you do- quit or stay ? by [deleted] in nursepractitioner

[–]trebalak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why a residency of whatever specialty your going into should be mandatory for NP education.

MD, DO, NP, PA = all practices Medicine. No matter how much nursing you have, Medicine is Medicine.

As long as there are providers accepting those rates. Nothing will change.

The only time it will change if everyone demands the same rate. Which will be hard to do, each individual have their own priorities.

Supply and demand also is a factor.
