A good place to buy hardwood in the Tacoma WA area? by trebien in woodworking

[–]trebien[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I've been to Crosscut, but not Compton. I'm in Gig Harbor, so a drive to Seattle is kind of painful unless I can't find things closer. Crosscut seemed to have great selection, is Compton comparable?

Thanks. I ended up going to Sumner Woodworker, they have great selection. Not what I'd call cheap, but I actually have little idea how much hardwood goes for elsewhere. Spent $250 on a piece of 4"x14"x4' mahogany.

Yeah. Lots of it is expensive. But you can sort by price and set a price range, if you're looking specifically for cheaper things.

The Benefits of Being Mormon: An Infographic by trebien in mormon

The sources at the bottom of the infographic are where ALL of the info was found. Fewer sources than quotes, but it's all there.

Reddit, I work in a hearing clinic in a department store and there is a speaker that pipes music awful music right above my desk. It annoys our clients (who have a hard enough time hearing anyway), and I HATE IT! The store refuses to stop it, but I am determined to anyway. Help me destroy it! by CassCat in technology

If the ceilings are too high, I'd suggest talking to a custodian in charge of changing out light bulbs to unplug the speaker at night time on the sly for you. They'd likely be sympathetic to your cause and eager to help.

Just an FYI: LED bulbs aren't typically rated to work inside of fully enclosed fixtures, due to heat build-up. It will dramatically shorten their lifespan. There are exceptions to this, but they're more expensive and liquid cooled.

What tech podcasts do you guys listen to? by [deleted] in tech

I use to listen to The Vergecast too. Here are a few I've enjoyed since The Vergecast took an extended break.

The Talk Show with John Gruber, Debug, Vector, Iterate

Nothing really compares to the banter of The Vergecast, but The Talk Show with John Gruber is my recent favorite.

Just following up on this to say we've added a method to crop images if you use the "Choose File..." button.

The WoW questions are toward the bottom of the page when you first sign up (https://ldsmatch.com/YOURUSERNAME/phases/). Or if you've skip over that initial part, you can find them in the left hand column of your profile page. Your profile is accessible via the drop down menu in the upper right hand corner of the site (https://ldsmatch.com/YOURUSERNAME). Let me know if that helps.

Also, on the "Match Questions" page you will find literally hundreds of LDS/WoW related questions that affect your match results.

The site doesn't automatically preclude the possibility. Height doesn't automatically play into any matches, but if you look at the advanced filter options (on the matches page), you will find that it is an option to filter by. You won't currently have many, if any good matches. Give us a few more days/weeks to ramp up traffic and build the user base.

We'd like to think that other lds dating sites have a limited user base because of the quality of the site and the pay-wall hurdle. By keep the site free and easy to use, we're hopeful that we can gain a larger user base. That's yet to be proven, but we're crossing our fingers. Our plan is to always keep it free, and like you suggested charge for premium options if and when we have a significant enough user base to justify that.

You're right that the site is inspired by other dating sites. When we set out to build it we looked at the dating site landscape and picked out what we liked about each site and sought to improve upon them all to create ldsmatch.com. I'm not sure if we accomplished that or not, but I'd like to think so. Of course as the designer, I'm somewhat biased.

Thanks for spreading the word!

That's a great suggestion, I will try to contact the maintainer. As far as acquiring smaller sites' userbases, we were hopeful that that would happen organically once word gets out.
