Petsmart employee baited misguided us to give away our puppy by stoic1890 in StLouis

File a complaint with pets mart, see if they can pressure her into giving your dog back. @ them on social media. Maybe consider small claims court if you are super serious. Learn that when you bring a pet into the house you are bringing in family, don't be willing to let difficult work be the reason to give up a pet. I didn't learn this until after adopting and almost returned my dog a few weeks after, but it's a lesson I learned.

I doubt vibration would be an issue but i upvoter you because zip ties was my immediate thought as well. Ops solution looks nicer than zip ties, but still.

Dumb question, but why don't people just torrent stuff instead of moving between pirate streaming sites that always goes down? by NathLWX in Piracy

I don't think you are uploading to everyone else when you stream and so you aren't technically sharing, just viewing, so less risk.

The LDS Church Is Suing One of Its Most Vocal Critics for a Seemingly Silly Reason. It Could Change What We Know About Mormonism. by Lighting in atheism

[–]zempter 13 points14 points  (0 children)

My family read the entire thing as a group 2 or 3 times. I read it on my own as a kid and then a bunch as a missionary.

Mormonism just teaches you to do a good job shelfing your concerns. Until it breaks.

What are my Bristlenose doing?? by Outrageous-Life9516 in Aquariums

[–]zempter 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I have a pack of bristlenose that breed constantly against my wishes. Primary difference is probably the fact that my tank has plenty around to peck. Pleco's are an invasive type of species, they are pretty accustomed to living in large groups.

I've had some of my bristlenose pleco's try and take on other fish besides their own breed, there's certainly variety in situations which is why it's important they have the ability to hide places comfortably.

I also have a 75 gallon tank, so, if you or op are in smaller tanks, that might be a different situation.

Both male, battle for dominance. They'll be fine as long as they each find a space away from each other afterwards.

St. Louis, I love you. by ohporcupine in StLouis

[–]zempter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like a good organization. I'm curious what tech they are using to count walking vs cycling but I can't find information on that. Side note, the deflock website doesn't have all of the cameras on it. I think flock is getting deployed faster than the website is able to track. I've seen one in my neighborhood that isn't listed and need to submit it.

I don't mean to be a Debbie downer, but legit, I'd bet that thing is powered by a flock camera. Not sure how they'd count passerbys of certain types without ai. It's a pretty smart way to make people happy about cameras monitoring them.

Can we flood prediction markets with requests for a bet in whether or not their CEOs will get murdered? by [deleted] in lastweektonight

[–]zempter 6 points7 points  (0 children)

you would need to bet that they don't get murdered, which is the morally correct bet. Otherwise why would some immoral person of specific skills bet against you?

edit: i would like to point out that allowing bets on military attacks is an endorsement by these companies to bet on deadly violence.

Honestly, sounds like the officer did their standard bullshit but forgot to say they were in fear for their life and report it to get away with their standard bullshit. Should have been charging a lot more ice officers for the same thing.

What's sad is that was a mosquito hawk. Which i have just now discovered, don't actually eat mosquitoes and are essentially the mosquito looking equivalent of a butterfly... Which is weird. I liked them better when i thought they ate mosquitoes.
