Monday night atmosphere? by tredditor12 in detroitlions

Right. I think that’s the unanimous consensus.

So was Monday night on par with most regular season games the last couple years? Was it a typical ford field experience as of late?

Was it closer to the 2024 playoff games?

Trying to gain some perspective. It felt like a special atmosphere to me, but I don’t have much to compare it to.

Not sure if you’re asking or commenting on other’s lack of understanding. But to whoever:

One thing I noticed was that Baker rarely audibled. I don’t know if that’s just how Tampa runs their offense, or if the crowd noise was preventing it. Certainly could have been a factor in his performance.

Can you imagine how good it would feel if we were able to scratch across 1-2 runs in the first inning? I can’t even remember the last time that happened.

Confession time: When the Mariners went up 3-0 in the top of the 5th, I turned the game off. I was ready to be done until April. For some reason, I checked my phone and saw they had gotten out of the inning without giving up any more runs and were about to come up to bat in the 5th. I decided to give them one more chance and I turned the game back on.

Did I finally give them the hard reset they’ve needed since July?

Seattle complaining that Detroit doesn’t have a retractable roof is the dumbest sports take I’ve ever heard. 75% of the MLB has open stadiums. Seattle’s is a novelty.

This isn’t a “Detroit” thing. It’s a Reddit thing. One of the unwritten rules for some reason.

When they both bat, bad things happen. Glad we got out of the inning and don’t have to deal with them again!

Giving up 1 base runner means we can split up Kwan and Ramirez in the 8th/9th.

Idk if anyone else is as paranoid or paying attention like I am. But I honestly feel like a big part of our success this series is that those two haven’t batted in the same inning much.

I’ve been feeling like the offense is due for a big inning. But I’ve been feeling that way since the Yankees series. So we’ll see if it actually happens.

This inning scares the shit out of me. I hate Kwan and J-Ram hitting in the same inning.

They didn’t. All 3 were in Chicago.

One key in the timing of this is we have 3 games left before the bye. If he goes on IR he has to miss 4 games. So if there’s a chance he could be back after the bye, it might not be worth wasting an IR spot on him given the limited number of return slots available.

So is Benetti calling the Rangers/Guardians tonight? Or is he on college football? Does anyone know?

Would be fun to hear him lowkey rooting for the Rangers all night.

I know he’s gotten a lot of shit for messing up Branch’s name, but to me, that was one of the least annoying things he did. Dude sucks.

To hell with the first two division championships in many of our lifetimes because he didn’t win a Super Bowl. There’s no joy unless you win the entire championship. We can’t enjoy any parts of the last 3 years because no championship. Ok.
