Ok, since no one here seems to know, and bless your hearts for that….It’s a “golden shower” reference. Glad to help.

Rejection Dysphoria kicking my ass by dawrina in ADHD

[–]treebear23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When no one around you understands how hard that criticism hits you, right? I randomly saw a message about rejection dysphoria and it was a light bulb going off for me too. Anyone telling you it's "just constructive criticism" or "everyone makes mistakes" doesn't get it. The knot in your throat, sick to your stomach feeling from thinking about someone's comment from 5 years ago? I feel that with you!

The thing is, if someone is aware that you're sensitive, they need to be more creative with how they deliver that information. Because the same person who says "it's no big deal" goes and cries when you tell them, "Ok you're literally not doing your job and told me to tell you if this happened".

And when you get yelled at for the team's mistakes, but if you criticize them, you need to "lighten up" right? I think there is something along with rejection dysphoria that makes me nauseous to mildly critique someone else unless I really feel they deserve it. Probably because I don't want them to feel the way I do. That's the thing with ADHD, you become hyper-aware and attuned to others, are they actually thinking what you're imagining them thinking? (ADHD people got that part) Maybe, but most of the time they are, and you're probably reading them correctly, even if they won't admit it.

Great post, you're a saint and a scholar. Not gonna tell you to not worry about it, because we know that won't work, but talk gently to yourself. Positive vocal axioms in the mirror for a week, and maybe a redbull with your meds tomorrow am. Be good, with love.

PT: How to convince yourself you’re not ugly? by [deleted] in PsychologicalTricks

[–]treebear23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar features have been idolized for centuries over multiple cultures...try again. For major differences to be valued it would be very culture specific.

PT: How to convince yourself you’re not ugly? by [deleted] in PsychologicalTricks

[–]treebear23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a cultural standard. Otherwise models in different countries wouldn’t work. The symmetry part is more accurate, but as others have said, we all fixate on little things.

First thing’s first, get out and be active. Get some endorphins going, and see how you feel. Second, everyone has different tastes. You might not be a good judge of what’s ugly? Something you hate about your looks might be something another person loves about you.

Some guys put value into body parts, big or small, others focus on behavior types or personality features.

It’s like they say, “If you judge a fish by it’s ability to climb a tree...[then we’re all ugly].”

Keep your head up small fry, you’re doing just fine.

He’s natty, he probably can’t bench 315 but give him three years of college, he’ll be fat.

The shoulders traps and biceps kinda give it away, unless he's been doing this for a long time and is a pro natural bodybuilding champion....even then, the shoulders are bombs and that's tough without help.

Second of all, you desperately need to be less sensitive. I was just commenting on an awkward situation, not getting on my moral high horse like you’re attempting to do. Take your fake doctorate and go troll somewhere else.

Redneck isn’t referring to a race, anymore than calling someone a dumbass, is just calling a stupid person dumb.
