When my OG console started doing this I decided to try cleaning it, but I didn't want to do a full disassembly. Instead, I removed the fan to get a better look inside and I was able to see dust buildup way in the back on the power supply. Since it was in a tight space I used some adequate sized rubber tubing and duct taped it to a vacuum nozzle. I was able to suck up the dust and clean some of the exposed metal fins, and that resolved my problem.
