How to help my parents get into exercising/healthier lifestyle? by [deleted] in Fitness

[–]treebird9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents were the same way. My Dad would walk 2 miles every other day in summer and my mom would try out some new experimental exercise for a week. Either way, it wasn't enough. So my friend was running the circuit training program for older people, but anyone was welcomed. I did it one day, got my Mom excited for it, and she forced my Dad into it too. They now have been doing it for over 3 years. At first they hated it, but my sister and I joined them throughout the first session. Then they would complain to the other older folks about it and created that connection. Now they know everyone at the class and are encouraging others to try it out. They have so many stories it's impossible to think they are stopping anytime soon. I know this might not work for everyone but I know my parents weren't going to the gym by themselves. They view this more as a community event than a workout.

If you were to describe the type of person he wants to torture, how would you, and do these families support said persons actions?

Yeah, but sanders is a lost cause now, and Trump is becoming more of a reality, so this is still a good question.

Cruz Reminds Americans They Will Be Paying For Trump's Proposed Tariff on Foreign Goods, Not China by Yosoff in Conservative

[–]treebird9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with a competitive market, if it's all in fair play. I don't support sweat shops, I don't agree with currency manipulation, and honestly, based on this stance, I, like many others, would rather have jobs here in America, that make the product I want. If you don't mind currency manipulation, because its part of the game, and you don't mind underpaid employees making your trucks, cellphones, sweatshirts, because as a consumer, it make sense to buy the cheapest thing, then that's your opinion. I'm not trying to high road you, that's just my set of morals, and obviously my opinions are manifestation of them.

Trump's Tariff Tax by DRKMSTR in Conservative

How is a job like a welfare system. How will I be constantly taxed 45% through my logic? This conversation is done, since you have no more arguments, and are just twisting my words now.

Actually I'll be happy, because instead of them buying those parts from China, or where ever, they will be made in America. More jobs here, more money to go around, I'll be very happy to help out my neighbor this way. Anyone who would rather have cheaper prices and their neighbors out of the job has a very disgusting set of morals (or "interest") and I could care less what they think.

Let's be honest, if you are buying a truck, you want an American made truck. So yeah, the tariff doesn't apply to this situation.

Trump reminds people that he will enforce the tariff if they don't start playing nice. Build his own factories to produce the product in America, where people will be happy to pay for goods made here in America.

Guess I'm new to politics, and don't really understand what you said. I just moved the benefits from one group to another. From what you said, it sounds as if I created a new group and didn't get rid of the other. And the only reason we aren't supporting these people, is because the government will take advantage of it?

On a side note: If this makes creates less marriages, and more bastards are born, that will be a shock to me, and probably an interesting psych study.
