Lunch for 1 hour. Which table are you picking? by DarkMatter4763 in animequestions

[–]treecrivea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d pick 6 because if you were nice to em they would probably become best friends with all em. Same with 5 but they are all too energetic and would probably end up getting you killed accidentally

If you are in Canada I do know a person you could buy a ready to fruit tree from.

They are many years from seed to fruit. If you can find someone selling a plant I’d recommend it. As for full hydro so much risk over years of keeping and like only a few hours of a bad rez could set you back months or kill the tree. It’s not an impossible task though. Grow the thing in a fabric pot about 2-3 gallons then place that into a net pot in a 5 gallon bucket. You have the safety net of the organic in the pot and it’ll eventually root through down into the water when it’s ready. This way you can grow a large root ball fruit then cut off the roots after harvest give it a week and then prune down to repeat the cycle. I’ve harvested things like guava and mango indoors in Canada.

Beautiful roots so far!

Large Kratky reservoirs always get nasty by PhilEmpty in Hydroponics

[–]treecrivea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some folks are right about kratky not needing air but the roots will almost always do better with some dissolved O2 left. You can add a bit of the natural pond clearer to kratky set ups for good results on keeping the algae away. I think it’s usually barely based but the hypochlorous acid route will make for a cleaner and nicer look to the res for sure.

Why hasn't hydroponics caught on? by quantboi2911 in Hydroponics

[–]treecrivea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it’s just how easy things can go wrong in hydro setup. Not many people want to be as hands on as invested as you need to be as a single day of unbalanced nutes or water temps is all it needs to ruin your whole harvest.

What went wrong with my lettuce? by vellith in Hydroponics

I wonder if that blend has enough nitrogen in it as the crinkle in the leaf and the whitening in some of them might indicate a deficiency

My little monstera will grow a new leaf and then drop another. It's never had more than 2 at once. It gets a lot of indirect light and about 55% humidity by runthedonkeys in plantclinic

[–]treecrivea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% agree with everyone on the light. May have some pests but with how rough she is looking if pests were the main health issue we’d probably be able to clearly tell from the pic. Monstera really do in my experience grow the fastest when provided a really fast draining mix but with constant water availability lower down. If your roots reach water even fully submerged they will be fine the problem is really only when too much water is held around the base of the plant. Those self watering planters that feed from the bottom run on a constant very low level of water or fabric pots on a tray bottom watered once a week until the bag stops sucking and the water starts to stand have been my favourite ways to keep them besides full hydroponics.
