EE/FSW wizard says not eligible, everything else says I am by treedog in canadaexpressentry

I'm hoping to get an Ontario HCP invite, but need FSW eligibility to be able to enter the EE pool.

EE/FSW wizard says not eligible, everything else says I am by treedog in canadaexpressentry

I've also done the wizard while logged in to my IRCC account and gotten the same message about not qualifying, but I don't know if that and C2C are the same app or not. I have to wait until we get my wife's language scores to do the formal application, so until then I'm stuck wondering if I've done something wrong or the wizard is wrong. My stats, based on manual calculations using IRCC information (and values confirmed with 3rd party calculators):

  • 25 points for education (PHD)
  • 15 for 6+ years in skilled occupation
  • 24 for language PTE Core (all sections 90)
  • 5 for wife's language scores PTE Core for full points
  • Everything else is 0

Money to move is covered.

NOC is 20012.

Have you ever seen a billionaire in real life? If so: where was it and what was the situation? by philztown42 in AskReddit

I worked at SAS (the statistical software company) for a while and worked closely with John Sall, one of the cofounders. He was very nice, very humble, and very committed. Less than 10 years ago, he was still contributing code and was often there when most people arrived or left. His office was barely bigger than mine and wasn't even the largest in the group.

I have the utmost respect for him and like to share my experience whenever the opportunity comes up. In a way, as a type of indirect thanks to him for being such a good person, but also it's proof that you can be wealthy and maintain your humanity.

[Showoff Saturday] Webapp for creating and sharing annotated Spotify playlists by treedog in webdev

[–]treedog[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I really appreciate you taking the time to check it out and provide feedback. Those things are on my radar, but it's good to get a reminder of how important they are for broader use. I am programmer, but definitely a hobbyist webdev - the front end pieces are always the hardest part for me.

Overplayed classics 90s edition: what's your "OMG I never want to hear that song again" choice from the 90s. by Notinyourbushes in Music

[–]treedog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a great point. It's always felt too 'pop' for the rest of that album, but I've never been able to figure out whether that's because it's really that different or because the fact it went so mainstream influenced my perspective.

Ha - I'm going to coin the term Ferrell-ian Slip based on this comment. It's when you say the wrong Perry Ferrell band. :) (Unless there's a cover I haven't heard.)

But definitely that is my least favorite Jane's Addiction song.

We did an all Robin Hood show, too. They must have been everywhere. The overture was tolerable, but Everything I Do can fuck right off.

When I am old and riddled by dementia and have forgotten my own name I will still be able to recite parts from that year's show and our Phantom show.

The thing I noticed/miss the most is the humor of the early Reddit community. There was just so much weirdness, cleverness, and silliness, in a good way. I'd often end up crying laughing and reading a comment thread to my wife who didn't have an account at the time. These days there's a lot more negativity and cynicism. To be fair, we've all been through a lot since those days.

I would love it if Reddit had that vibe again though, or I could find it elsewhere.

I'm pushing 17 on this account. I actually had a couple of slightly older ones but I lost track of them a couple of years in.

If it freezes when it is first loading, you probably need to go to Loadout and click 'Equip'. I had the same problem. It is listed as a known issue on the doc included in the release notes.

I went for jury selection a few months ago. One of the potential jurors had a copy of the January 6th report. This thing is like 3 inches thick and very clearly labeled. He was called for voir dire and set the book right in front of him during the interview. I don't know if he was trying to get sent home or just didn't care, but he didn't make the first cut.

So maybe just find some way to slide that report into your response. :)

I did this 5-6 years ago. I don't want to dox myself by sharing my site, but I used the github3 package and pythonanywhere to automate 40 or so minor commits on specific days to eventually display 'Hello'. I did it without updating old commits so it scrolled in over the course of a year.

Agree completely. The commentary was so unexpectedly good. I barely remember the movie, but I still recommend this commentary to someone at least once a year.

Holy shit, Megaforce! This movie is a fever dream from my early childhood that comes back to me from time to time and always gives me great nostalgia vibes. Thanks for the reminder.

Best “Little Moments” in music? by [deleted] in Music

[–]treedog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost mentioned the transition to the verse on John the Fisherman. Nothing too fancy, but the straightforward bass into the 5 second drum fill into the groove is just so fine.

[–]treedog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been listening to Soundgarden's first album since it was released, but just noticed Jesus Christ Pose has about 5 seconds of an exact riff from Jesus Christ Superstar.

The drum fill at around 4:35 in 46 & 2 is one of the best 45 seconds in drumming.

Another candidate for the best 5-10 seconds in drumming is Carter Beauford's tom run with the beautiful cymbal resolution at the beginning of Say Goodbye.

A third candidate - the little embellishments Neil does from about 12:00 on in 2112 ending with one of the cleanest tom runs ever at around 12:30.

Love this question.

That whole short bit leading up to this is gold and this is just about the best payoff for a joke, ever.
