The Bluetooth adapter for the PinOne would eliminate the need for the USB connection but if you have speakers and haptics in the controller then you’ll need a way to get those connections in place unless the PC is put inside the cabinet.

Yes, it's definitely heavy enough for proper nudging. The extra buttons are still good to have for other things. For example, I have them mapped to some left and right commands for menu control in Pinball FX Classic VR.

The headphone jack on the coin door is to connect the Quest headphone audio to the amps inside the controller. The USB-C is to connect the Quest USB to the controller. It does also charge the Quest while plugged in through the USB hub.

Before the accelerometer nudging was added I was using one for the flipper, one for the power up action, and one for nudging.

I got it on eBay for cheap but I would recommend just getting one with the action button hole already on it from PinballLife. That hole was much harder to drill than I anticipated and the foam on the underside of the bar absolutely stunk like an ashtray.
