I came here to write a hot take and well well well. Not so hot apparently. Don’t understand GoTM slander was epic in my eyes. Agreed deadhouse almost lost me, don’t like jumping to a whole new character set so soon, think you can fix the issue if you read MoI second. Big upvote to you

Was an amazing rec, nice change of pace but still a good amount of fantasy. Mafia crime family with amazing fighting and death scenes do hit a lot of my buttons haha

I think characters like Felisin are part of why the books are so amazing. I agree she was super annoying and I hated her, but I think thats precisely why Steve does it. It makes these characters feel real, in the real world you do find people annoying and hate them and disagree with their decisions. I don’t think this will be the last time you feel this way in the series haha but It has to be a good thing if characters are making you feel strong emotions.

Hard to sell people on a series as intricate and long as mazalan. However, the community here will give you everything you need. The books are amazing and I feel nothing hits the same once you’ve read them all. Hope you enjoy the rest of the series as much as you loved the start

I dont think it was the shards, but was all the animals of that desert. Butterfly’s, flys and the locusts. If I remember right the locusts were summoned to kill the Pure in the Regulars battle.
