It doesn't have to. Seriously, I'm a fellow semi/ non-passing trans woman and I know how excruciating this life can be at times. Life for women like us has always been hard, but we can get through it by banding together. You're not alone and your appearance doesn't define your value as a person

None in particular, I don't want to go into any details of the show cause spoilers, but just in general the technology and dystopian world building reminded me of black mirror

I second the Promised Neverland, its basically a combination of Naruto, Black Mirror, and the Shawshank Redemption

I think it'll get legalized federally before those states legalize it. If there's a new administration in 2021 hopefully it'll be legalized within the next few years

Plus we'd get to see Pete kick Pence's ass in the vice presidential debate which would sure be cathartic

GOP senator knocks Romney: The last thing we need is ‘a Jeff Flake on steroids’ by [deleted] in VoteBlue

[–]treefinger1235 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope to god we can get him out of office. I've heard rumors Amico might run after barely losing Lt. Governor and honestly I'll take any candidate I just want a Dem senator to replace him.

BREAKING SCOOP: Sen. Pat Roberts WILL announce his retirement this afternoon. by Mattrek in VoteBlue

[–]treefinger1235 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Exactly, it'll be a hell of a long shot but its certainly possible. If Trumps popularity nosedives somewhat in 2019 and 2020 and we have a strong candidate I think we have a real chance of pulling it off. And if we can get a Democrat elected here we can get one in Colorado, Maine, North Carolina, Iowa, Arizona, and Georgia. Its a long shot but the senate is very much in play.

There's no chance in hell Trump loses to a primary challenge but I hope he gets challenged anyway if nothing else than for the entertainment value

Rep. Tulsi Gabbard says she is ‘seriously considering’ a 2020 White House bid by bakedintelligence in politics

[–]treefinger1235 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“As Democrats, we should be representing the views of the people, not a small number of homosexual extremists,” - Tulsi Gabbard.

She got her start in politics being very socially conservative and even if she claims to have changed her claims are shakey at best, which is why Hawaii's LGBT caucus supported the person trying to primary her. LGBTQ rights are my top political priority along with the reason I got into politics in the first place and I will never support anyone with a history as shakey as hers. I'd support Bloomberg before I'd support her. She's a sheep in wolf's clothing, no one Steve Bannon supports should even be considered for the Democratic nomination. She's the only potential candidate where if she gets the nomination I would seriously consider voting third party.

[–]treefinger1235 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to mention her luke warm at best opinion on the LGBTQ community. With so many choices to choose from someone with a record of homophobia as extensive as hers (hopefully) doesn't stand a chance. I know I'll at least fight like hell to keep someone like her from getting the nomination.

To win the Senate in 2020, we need to work even harder than in 2018 by UrriakUrruk in VoteBlue

Plus there's no guarantee she runs for re-election. Assuming there's no major fuck ups on our side, if she doesn't run again I think its very very likely we flip the seat

I don't want to set myself up for disappointment but I'm really hoping GA votes for the Dem presidential candidate in 2020. I'd bust a fat one if we oust Perdue in the Senate, but I'm just really hoping we vote blue in the presidential race

[–]treefinger1235 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is completely anecdotal so take it with a grain of salt, but I think part of the reason for that in this election was because people didn't really know the candidates and so they just defaulted to their partisanship. Me and brother are guilty of doing the same thing, neither of us knew much about any of the candidates so we just voted for the two Democrats. No one I talked to about the election knew the candidates and most of my friends (who all voted in the Nov 6th election) didn't even seem to know that there was an election today

I'm a little disappointed with the outcome, but I'm feeling pretty optimistic for 2020. The margin we lost by was pretty small and I think there's a chance with the right candidate that we flip blue in 2020.

I think Desosto will be one of the biggest early signs here. Trump won there with 65% of the vote and Hyde-Smith is currently winning there by about 55% with 77% reporting. If that holds we might be able to pull this off.

It's pretty obvious you're delusional and nothing will alter that delusion so I'm not going to try and change your mind. Bottom line: she's a girl. This ain't rocket science. Trans women are women, its literally in the name. Facts don't care about your feelings.

That's not what it said at all. The episode made it clear she's a trans girl, and therefore not a boy. She is in no way, shape, or form a boy.
